Luxury accommodation

Everything was amazing! The breakfast delivered to the room every morning was a real treat and the minibar was plentiful. The nautical architecture within the cube has been done to a lovely standard, no expense spared and ties in lovely with the visual surroundings of the inner hull of a historic working vessel. We would definitely stay here again, lovely accommodation, quiet area with great amenities just a short walk away.

Excellent! Highly recommend!

Opportunity to stay on a lightship was very unique. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable. Design and accessories matched the shipboard feel. Breakfast was very good. Extraordinary accommodation. So glad we stayed here for the week! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and interesting experience.

Loved everything. For awareness for others considering staying here, its about a mile either to the metro or the ferry. Easy walk. And there is no elevator (those werent part of lightships) so must be able to navigate the steps down to the room.

Unforgettable confortable experience

The advertising sell you the pictures and is exactly as shown, no hidden surprises. Fascinating idea this room if you are into different. As an experience it is worth the stay youll hardly ever forget the room. Beautifully designed interesting machinery room! Unique would be the word! there are many pros and a few cons you should note.. Pros: Extremely quiet room Very large room for Europe with a nice KING SIZE BED Super original design to be seen and lived Nice immediate hot water all the time Nice heated floor (cozy) Nice breakfast deliver to your door every morning

A few thing to note (cons): It is more of a summer stay or at least fair weather so dont stay if the weather forecast is for rain or miserable weather since you are somewhat far from everything. Its a nice 15 min walk to free ferry but ONLY WITH FAIR WEATHER. You can also take an Uber to central station or ferry but youll be spending 15-20 all the time. 40 if you dont want to take the free ferry. There is a block alway from the nearest road so taxis cant pick you up right in front but it is a VERY SHORT Walk (with nice weather) otherwise youll get cold and wet if raining. Or bring an umbrella!! Take note they DO NOT SERVICE YOUR ROOM and it is not cheap. No fresh towels, no cleaning, no sheets of course. (This we did not like or expect) No exterior visibility from the room. You are down in the boat with only some original round boat window to high to see anything (good if you need dark room for sleeping) With good weather who wants to stay in the room anyway. Very polite and nice host Alex. Helped us with an unfortunate issue of flight cancellation.

Great, unique stay!

Excellent accommodations and such a unique stay. A little off the beaten path but Amsterdam is not big at all. An easy walk to the ferry and across the river or Uber to the city center (try not to take cabs; way too expensive - profiteering alert).

Again, a little off the beaten path, but we knew that when we booked. So, be sure to bring snacks back or eat before coming back as its difficult to have UberEATS delivered.

Stunning place! An absolute gem hidden away just north of the city centre.

Breakfast was incredible! Ready and waiting outside our bedroom door each morning.

The property is quite a way from the centre of town. We liked how peaceful it was but it may not be for everyone.

An experience rather than a hotel night

Staying on a boat was always on our bucket list, and this hotel surpassed our expectations. Our room was fully equipped, spotlessly clean, and boasted top-quality bed, pillows and linen. The host was incredibly welcoming and was always available for anything we needed. It was a unique and memorable experience for us. Highly recommend!

Just a general advice for other travelers: In Amsterdam, biking is the norm. When staying at this amazing hotel in Amsterdam Nord, note that the metro is a 20-minute walk and the free ferry to Central Station is 25 minutes away. Consider renting a bike for convenience!

A one of a kind experience and a wonderful base to explore Amsterdam

We had a fantastic stay in the Machine Space at the Lightship Amsterdam. To my knowledge, this is a one of a kind property. You board a beautiful old ship, walk down some stairs, and enter a glass container suspended within the inside of the ship. Inside the glass container is a beautiful and spacious hotel room decorated with care and skill. Plus, our host Nathalie was as nice and accommodating as one could ask for and the area is beautiful and quiet, but also a 25 minute walk/ferry from Amsterdam Central. We loved everything about our stay.
