The Lakewood Residence is a small, beautiful hotel with basic amenities such as a pool. The service provided by the staff is fantastic and they are friendly. The breakfast spread offers a decent mix (Read More)of English and Sri Lankan cuisine with lots of vegetarian options. The location is right by the lake and is pleasant for running in the morning. The pool is small and the room has a great lake view. Overall, highly recommended for families with kids visiting Kandy.

Superb

Great location, great staff and great food. Thank you for your hospitality.

Helpful and friendly staff in particular Chamila at breakfast who was knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. All staff were extremely helpful and polite. Location was fantastic we could see the temple of the sacred tooth across the lake from our room.

Extraordinary location and very friendly staff, strongly to recommend.

The place is extraordinary in a bustling city, 5 mins. from the very center, with a magnificent hill view of Kandy including the tooth temple from above and on the other side of the lake. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool that is indoors but would be welcome for use after sightseeing.

There are only minor points, as the lack of sufficient holders etc. to dry towels and underwear. The toilet is prone to congestion.

Centrally located hotel

Really lovely hotel to stay that was centrally located with lovely accommodating staff and a nice room with hot water and loads of space. Easy to get to station for onward travel and staff able to organize Tuk Tuk.

We had asked for a room with a balcony but were given a garden view room with a steel balcony that you couldnt walk onto. Thats my only criticism as everything else great

Modern, comfortable stay

The hotel was modern, well presented, clean and boasts fantastic views over the nearby lake and temple. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom probably the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka.

Great accommodation

Great accommodation, very close to the city center - just a short walk down the hill. Great buffet breakfast - Chamila was very kind in the dining area, giving us tips on what to see in Kandy. Staff are very friendly.
