Friendly staff and a very good chef. Excellent location but gardens need some work and a softer bed would be nice.
Very friendly staff who were very helpful. Great location with view of Koh Kham. Very good food with delicious banana fritters!
Bed was a bit hard. Room was overlooking a lotus pond that had no lotuses in it! Gardens needed attention.

Really nice place worth a visit
Calm and quite! Perfect location and nice bar at the pier. Excellent snorkeling possibilities along the pier with nice corals and a lot of fish.
Rather worn out and in need of maintenance. Covid has clearly hit Koh Mak hard and the island needs tourist in order to get capital for renovation!

Lovely resort with lots of character. Pool was brilliant and amazing snorkelling just off the pier. Cocktails at sunset was amazing.
As it was green season, breakfast was an additional charge - not much choice but tasty.

A lovely location, great staff
Good location, nice surroundings, friendly and welcoming staff
The flies at breakfast were annoying especially landing on the food. (I understand its difficult to control) I wouldve liked the shower gel and shampoo to have been labelled ( just my personal preference)

Disappointing
Failed to meet my expectations
Parts of the resort are absolutely lovely: The pier and pool area for instance.
Its such a shame! This resort has real potential to be great, but has been poorly managed and left to run down. You can see that huge investment was originally made, however it now seems to be a shadow of its former self. My first impressions were of the reception area which looked cluttered and used as a mini storage area. Young staff constantly on their mobile phones and you could hear their phones going off. This seemed unprofessional to me and the fault of the hotel management. Wooden pathways around reception and restaurant area had broken slats and seemed dangerous. Around the pool, the electricity wasnt always switched on to the pool for the water fountains, filter nor jacuzzi. We liked the opportunity to snorkel off the pier. The resort is set at the bottom of one of the steepest hills on the island. Beach area to right of resort is an eyesore with litter and seaweed. Dinner was fine, but we got bitten. Staff at breakfast had a real attitude problem. Getting an omelette was a real challenge. Breakfast staff just looked disinterested and bored (again on their mobiles). The room was adequate, 3 star and no more. Cleanish room, large beds, good air con, bathroom in need of some renovation and smelt of drains. Limited hottish water. Water stains in wet room and urine stains on back of toilet seat. The toilet door had a hole in with a flap covering it. There was coffee making facilities and a fridge, but no safe. The cleaning staff obviously dont clean between the fly screen and window, there was a rather large dead critter there. The rooms like the resort seemed tired with faded and dirty stained curtains. The electricity was not stable and kept going in and out which was the same for the Wi-Fi. Im perhaps being over critical here because its supposed to be one of the best resorts in Koh Mak. OK its an island resort in Thailand, but I paid $140 a night, so maybe my expectations were higher.

Disappointing
The breakfast was nice and the pier was good. The pool was good, as well as the view over the gulf.
The room and the property were not that well maintained, maybe still because of Corona. The door to our room didn't close completely, and the roof was leaky - not for rain, but we saw spiders and lizards in the room. The bathroom was a little dirty, and the bathtub was not suitable for elderly maybe. We didn't feel the price was fair as it was very high. We would recommend renting a scooter at another place as it was more expensive in the hotel.
