Hotel Virgilio

There are 2 sections in the hotel!! The first one is a building of 3 floors newly renovated, and directly next to it, there is another residential building, in which Virgilio hotel has 1 apartment divided into 3 hotel rooms!! I arrived to the hotel and was told by the receptionist that the three-floor hotel is fully booked and I will be guided to my room on the 5th floor in the adjacent building. He gave me a key chain that weighed 0.5 kg and took me to the adjacent building where he opened a big door gate and took me in front of a very old filthy elevator. The receptionist told me that the elevator door doesn't close properly so to make sure to close it before I go up to the 5th floor. He gave me 3 keys and asked me to try which one opens the room (he didnt even come with me to show me the room) . I was terrified!! the elevator was barely working. I arrived at the 5th floor where there are 3 doors: 2 doors for residential apartments (as it seems) and one opened door leading to another safe door (to be opened with a key). Once you cross this Safe door you arrive to the 3 rooms. I was really uncomfortable with the old building and all this scenery so I went to the receptionist and asked to change my room (as I booked in a hotel and not in a residential building!) but he said that they were fully booked (even though I checked booking.com and they still had availability) and told me that there is still only 1 room available which is a supreme room but I need to pay additional cost. I said no. had to go on the 5-floor stairs for all the days that I spent on my holiday. The room needs maintenance big time (The hygiene, the shower, the water flow in the sink...) . Booking team needs to review again the rating of this hotel and to update it accordingly so that other people are not mislead by this! Note for Virgilio team: appreciate not to reply back with useless excuses, instead kindly focus on delivering what you promise/ advertise on booking.
