Very good

I've stayed in both of this hotels immediate neighbours/competitors, the Hampton and the Congress and would say Hotel Porta Fira would be the winner.

Construction site across the road just started pile driving all day and into the night. Rooms are sound proofed well against internal noise but you're going to hear constant bashing into the ground until the work is complete. Not the Hotels fault though..

Exceptional

Great hotel near Fira

The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of pillows. In the room, the AC worked even in the winter, so you didn't have to open the window to cool the room down. The hotel is near the metro station and a bus stop with the bus to the airport. The hotel also had a good size gym with a sauna.

No complaints. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is very good but expensive (18 pp)

The hotel is a 2-3 star one. 1) The furnitures are quite old, also you could see rust and mold in the bathroom/toilet. 2) Moreover, the shower and toilet are separated from hotel room by glass: might not be comfortable if traveling in a group or with a friend. 3) room ventilation is not good, we felt there is a lack of oxygen especially during sleeping time. 4)

Exceptional

Very nice hotel with exceptional architecture!

Hotel was exceptionally well equipped, it did surprise us with the view through the window, double showers and sinks, was warm and silent.. Breakfast was good. Location is convenient to reach by bus.

There were some uncleaned blood stains and other residual substances left in the room which were unpleasant at least. But that's most likely room servicemen problem not hotels itself.
