Beautiful accommodation in historic building with stunning views

The property, and our room in particular, was just beautiful. Henry Deanes worth a visit with stunning views.

Was not easy to get attention of bar staff when wanting to checkin or checkout. Bar was busy.

Very disappointed for reasons above - especially as this was pre Christmas treat . Think very poor given price paid

Great glimpse views of harbour in the room (George Power suite) & also upstairs bar & restaurant. Found menu a challenge until explained by helpful waitress - superb tapas style food - the best have had in Sydney - excellent & attentive service & some reasonably priced wine . Liked heritage of building - which almost forgave crazy noisy creaking floorboards throughout entire carpeted room. Bathroom well appointed & stylish.

Chaotic check in at rowdy bar (though rowdy bar understandably as was Christmas ) On arrival in room - when looking for plug to charge phone found empty Durex wrapper think should have been spotted by cleaning team. Thought about complaining at time but only option would have been bar staff in very busy bar. Air conditioning unit was dominating in suite area & leaking - pipe into bucket appeared to be temporary fix - carpet around damp. The blind in suite was half down & not working properly so blocking the best view towards the harbour . No washing up liquid to clean glasses. Stairs to & from room were filthy. Shocked given price of hotel rooms & restaurant. Only two toilets in main hotel/restaurant meant queuing for some time - very smelly & in poor state - especially . On check in we said we wanted to check out at 9am - was told there would be no one in & to leave keys in the room. This meant we couldnt use the lifts as you need key to use lift from hotel room areas so we had to drag cases down two flights of dirty staircase to get out. No one about to say goodby & for us to give feedback . Given the price of the room (we paid 185 with 19% discount as Level 3) think very poor.

Great location and view.

The view from the window (with only a slight lean out) was fabulous. The bed was clean and comfortable, and despite the pub downstairs and the cocktail bar above, the hotel and Millers Point were peaceful after 11pm.

The was a damp smell in our room - it might have been the new carpet. Thankfully the weather was good so we could have the windows open.
