The Clarks Varanasi hotel exceeded expectations with its warm and friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms, and top-notch service. The convenient location near popular attractions was a plus. However (Read More), some reviewers felt the hotel was overpriced, particularly the a-la-carte menu. The rooms were decent but in need of maintenance. Despite these minor issues, the exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, delicious dining, and excellent facilities made it a standout choice for visitors.

Wonderful hotel with amazing hospitality

I liked the hospitality of the staff, very courteous and polite. Mr Sanjeev Singh from Reservations helped me for smooth check in and check out. The food quality was good with many option. The room was extremely clean and hygienic.

They should serve proper tea during breakfast instead of tea bags. Rest everything was excellent. My stay was very comfortable and pleasant. Value for money!

This is a very old hotel. The staff tried to overcharge me when I checked in and took an extremely long time to check in. Service overall was very slow and not friendly. There was also loud noise from the streets. Would not recommend.

Lovely hotel and staff!

Lovely hotel which the late Queen stayed in 1960. Still has old Colonial feel. Food excellent and the chef accommodated our requirements. Central enough to reach the ghats and old town in tuk tuk or taxi but situated outside the noise and crowds. Lovely garden and secluded pool.

The 1951 restaurant and bar were lovely and quiet with low Indian music. Some mornings and evenings we had to use a much larger room to accommodate more people. There was live drum and sitar at breakfast and electronic instruments and singing at dinner. The acoustics in the room made normal conversation difficult, even with the drum/sitar. They kindly let us use the bar for our dinner the next night as the music was even louder. Many guests probably enjoyed this, but we didnt. I think a quiet zone for people to eat in is required.

Dirty room and unresponsive staff

Good location and reception area was well maintained

Although we booked a twin room none were available. We were recollected after seeing the room. The room was incredibly dirty, including soiled underwear from previous guests and food left on the floor. Although cleaning was requested many times in the end we found a hoover to clean the room ourself. Sink broken and not fixed during stay so water poured over the floor. Very unhelpful staff
