Great location. Friendly staff!

Good location on quiet street. Tasty breakfast. They sorted us out quickly the day we left as we had a train to catch!

Very very warm in annex room. We did not turn the radiators off the first night. The second night we did and bathroom was still very very warm. This was in the annex.

Disappointing

The building has lacked investment over the years but the staff are pleasant enough

The property was a good price for a weekend in York in December. The staff that we met were all helpful and courteous The shower was adequate Tea making facilities were fine

The property is tired throughout. There was mould in the bedroom cupboard and holes in the flooring behind the sink. One internal door marked up as fire exit was in fact a storage cupboard door. The bathroom window would not open.

Our lovely stay at Holmwood House has made us want to return to York again soon.

Breakfast was cooked fresh and was of very high standard. Service was friendly and accommodating. Staff were friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt very well looked after! Room was comfortable and cosy. It had everything we needed especially a Nice hot shower

Good location.

Property was well situated

Despite ringing ahead 48hrs before to enquire regards parking, on arrival we were then told it should have been reserved. Not on any correspondence from the hotel or booking.com were we advised of this. In addition we were then told we had to pay for the parking, again this was not listed anywhere nor were there any signs to advise of any charges.

Good, basic, clean accommodation, 4 star ?

Good location.

Bed was a bit too soft for our liking, also the bed cover was a different size from the duvet, overall a good night's sleep just woke up with a stiff back due to the soft mattress. Not sure how it's a 4 star accommodation, room was clean, had everything we needed, a nice basic small room so we were curious as to what the 4 star rating was or is hence why I've selected no to "Did the property meet your expectations". Good location to the centre.
