Has potential but needs a refresh.

The property itself is charming: beautiful, old building with lots of character.

The place is tired inside, the rooms in particular. 90s decor in need of a refresh. I also didnt like having to pay for the carpark, given that the hotel is by no means central.

Lovely hotel with helpful friendly staff

All the staff were really helpful & friendly we had a nice room and had a full english breakfast in the morning which was great and set us up for the day. Loved the outside area as well, very pretty.

Every thing was fine and cant think of anything I was unhappy with.

Good location, needs better customer service.

Location for York City very good. Unfortunately breakfast was far too rushed. Tea/coffee , cereal were self service. No sooner had these been collected than cooked breakfast was put in front of us. So either leave cereal and eat breakfast while it was hot or let breakfast go cold. Too many people having to walk about with hot drinks.

Bathroom shower head was filthy and the feed pipe to the shower needed cleaning desperately. I personally clean the shower head, there was also peeling paint on the wall in the bathroom. Our bedroom was reached by two flights of stair, on the landing a further single step caused both My wife and I to trip, my wife grazed the side of her face quite bad. When we arrived we were told our room number but reception did offer to tell us which direction the room was. Had it not been for a waiter when we were trying to find it we would have gone up the wrong staircase.

Needs some tlc before I would return

The location was very good . It was best to or family and friends . The staff were lovely . Breakfast was lovely and great choice

Paying for parking , heating not working in bedroom, no blinds on room window, having to be moved room as the room we in had leak . No restaurant or bar. The smell in corridor and also smell in bathroom of damp .

Take your money they tell you no food is available restaurant is closed

Clean nice room

No food , they take your money then send you a message saying the restaurant is closed so no evening meals available and breakfast is from outside catering and is awful
