Great hotel, absolutely incredible staff but not worth the high price tag

Great location a 25 minute walk from the old town, although when it rains the roads floods so come prepared!. The rooms were massive and really clean. Lovely balcony overlooking the river. We didn't use any of the facilities on account of the rain, but the breakfast was decent. Sufficient options for veggies. Staff were super helpful with all of our queries and made our honeymoon really special.

Getting onto the island the first time was a massive pain (we didnt realise it was a secure area), the security didn't want to let us over at first even though we had a booking. They then escorted us and just made us feel a bit uncomfortable. The TV in the room has a memory stick with 2 films on it (before sunset and brokeback mountain). This wouldn't be an issue but it rained really heavily one of the days so we decided to lounge about, watch TV and eat cake. We told the staff about the issue, they said they sent someone to fix but didn't. For the price you pay, you expect all of the facilities to be working. We also accidentally broke a cup, but the charge for the cup was crazy high for what it was, when we converted it back to pounds. In the UK service industry we get those same cups for about 50p a pop, so charging us a 5 for a broken cup felt unreasonable, again for the price you pay. All in all it was okay, but probably not worth the high price tag for the proximity to the memories show when you can attend it without being on the island.

Disappointing

4 star resort, 0 star service

Infinity pool, good room view, spacious. And that about it

Upon our arrival, there weren't anyone to help us open the door or luggage. When I arrived at front desk the staff didn't even take a look at me. I find that really odds for a 4-stars resort. We expected 4 rooms up on our arrival at 1:30PM but we only got 2. They told us to wait a few min. The 2 room other rooms was nearby so we come out and check on it several times but no staff were there to clean those rooms untill 3PM. We called front-desk few times and received the same answer:"we are pushing the staffs, it is a busy day". And once it done, they didn't even call us back, we had to call them and only then they let us know the 2 rooms are available!!!?? By then it's already over 3:30PM. My parents were tired since they don't have space to rest before the next activity. The second incident is that we called the front office to help us get taxi, I asked for a 7 seater since we are group of 8, instead of being helpful and nice like "I thing it's better to get 2 cabs", they told us:"how a 7 seat can hold 8 people?" and didn't even ask us for another solution. What kind of service is that? We did travel 8 in 7 seater taxi many places before, even in Da Nang, so it is normal for us to assume the same in Hoi An. The third was, in one of the 2 late rooms, they stuffed the dirt under the bed. It was a 2-single beds room, so we can easily see the dirt. I was too fed up to the point I don't want to talk to the reception The forth was, when we checked out, the returned with a bill stating that we used a Haribo pack (they even got the name wrong, it was stated as Haribal). We didn't even care about those room supplies let alone touch and use it. We asked them to check again and reply to us, which they never did reply to us again. And hey did I mentioned that all incidents happened to use for just 1 night stay at this resort. So yes.

Gorgous hotel, beautiful pools not far from the old town.

Our stay here was amazing. Beautiful luxurious rooms, super comfy massive bed and very strong aircon. The pools were amazing and the staff very attentive with towels and drinks. I had a hair treatment in the spa which was great value for money. Its about 20 mins walk from the old town which wasnt a problem for us but something to think about if you dont enjoy walking. Breakfast was a good standard.

Two negatives - they dont let you borrow an iron due to safety reasons - you have to use their laundry service- so maybe bring your own or a streamer if you have a lot of linen clothes! Second was the bikes you could borrow were not safe and not well maintained- my chain came off three times which made it a bit dangerous to use- none of our bells were working which is essential in the busy streets of old town.

Wonderful stay at Memories Resort & Spa

Lovely resort with a good location. Only a few minutes taxi to the old town and easily walkable. The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Sad it was only for one night. We will certainly return next year for at least a week.

The glass wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. It did have a blind but may have been easier to use if it was on the bedroom side.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and the layout of the bedrooms were not exactly what we booked initially as one of the rooms should've been a configuration for twin beds and the accommodation ended up been 2 king beds. A rollaway bed had to be requested at an extra cost - believe it or not. The facilities of the place are nice but not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was OK. The best part of our experience was definitely all employees with great smiles and always willing to assist you.
