Scary, but in the end it was ok, we are still alive.
ONeil the manager was very helpful and gave us rides in his car when needed. The bed in conch room was comfortable. The fridge and microwave were good features. We had a private entrance and bathroom which was good, as we didnt have to interact with all the guests.
It was not as advertised. Free breakfast was advertised-no free breakfast. Internet password was incorrect. Lock on front entrance door was never locked. Musty smell in Conch room. We needed help understanding how to work TV. The landscaping in back yard needs improvement.

Ive been to hundreds of different hostels around the world. Would not pick this one ever again.
The Veranda is nice
There is no basically no water pressure in the showers, apparently this has been the case for months. On the one hand the host was very helpful, on the other hand the tone was often quite rude. The fridge was dirty, the whole house is quite in disrepair, there is a no shoes in the house policy which is odd for a hostel with so many different people (always wore flip flops in the showers anyway), the vibe of the place. Maybe it was me but I never fully got into holiday mode.

-> I didnt feel safe in some of the areas close to the hostel. There is oftentimes no pavement and whenever you walk, cars stop by and offer to be your taxi -> We found a cockroach in our room

I didn't like the walk to the Atlantis (rundown streets and speeding cars)

Good experience!
I would definitely recommend to stay there. Its basic and a good price for the bahamas. Youll find everything you need at the hostel. ONeil was very kind and overall I had a good experience! Its a 20 min walk to downtown, but the area is nice and I was walking around alone during daytime as well. At night Id recommend a taxi back to the hostel. Its a quiet neighborhood and I really liked it there, I felt safe all the time. Thank you for everything, Id definitely come back!
The beds dont have curtains and there is just the regular light/lamp in the room. Small lamps for the beds would be nice.

The proper information how to get there I received too late. I got 3 emails with wrong address. The taxi driver did not know how to get there. The result was that we paid taxi driver twice more, and we drove around island in circles. There was not information where the room was located as well. The right information we got the next day. It was very nervous, and it would be difficult to find another hotel during the night. The problem was that we arrived late at night. Wrong given address, and that taxi driver did not know this hostel. The service at hostel was OK. Ewa
