Confortable and nice staff!

Nice staff. Bunk bed with curtains and big locker! (My bag is 64 lts). Even before I arrived staff was nice, always replying my messages fast and clear. I arrived almost 12 am because my bus was late and my booking was respected. Check in was easy and fast. Perfect because I was very tired and wanted to sleep soon. In the morning breakfast was served on time and good quantity. I recommend! :)

Best place for a budget in Hanoi

We stayed here in our 2nd visit to Hanoi, after loving it so much when we went the 1st time. The staff are really nice, they drove us to the bus station to take the bus to the airport. We really enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at City backpackers. The staff is really nice, good breakfast and bed are comfortable. They organize tours and helped us in everything we need. 100% recommend and will come back !

The private room was in another building In the heart of old town Hanoi Friendly and niche staff members

Just in front of the railway and multiple trains during the night which wakes you up at night. It needs maintenance. The breakfast area wasn't the cleanest place Could be more social

Excellent

A nice hotel (Lavender Boutique hotel)the staff is very friendly and helpful. Mr Tuan helped me a lot with planning the ha giang loop and the halong bay cruise! He also arranged many buses for us, which were always slightly cheaper with Mr. Tuan! The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, everything is within walking distance. The rooms look neat and clean.

The location

I was unhappy about this hostel for some reasons: 1. They changed our rooms from 2 private rooms (for 2 couple of elders) and 3 bunk beds to all of us stay in the 8 beds bunk bed room (we only use 7 beds). We booked 2 months before but they inform the change 1 week before our arrival. And they didnt inform us that we need to pay for the other one bed. I thought they will make the whole room for our group since that was their mistake. So in the end we pay the whole room. 2. When I want to change the usd, its 100 usd = 2400k vnd, and I changed 200 usd. The lady gave me the money which is we done the transaction. But suddenly she asked the money back, bcos she just checked the rate and said its going down so she will just give 2350k vnd for 100 usd. I kept insisting that we had a deal and ask my money back. I dont know if they do this scam often or not. 3. In the morning I order the car to the airport. Its 300k vnd for 4 seaters. And at first she said will give that free as a compensation, but in the end she just give me 100k vnd, deducted from the previous price so I will just pay 200k vnd.

quite clean, hot shower, simple breakfast included (toast and scrambled eggs with tea/coffee+banana), toothbrush and soap+shampoo provided

it can be noisy from the street (although its a very small street), towels are not included, theres nowhere to hang things other than on the bed

Cheap = cheap stay

Very central. Sometimes social vibes but you kind of have to be lucky with timing. The double bed in the dorm room was comfortable.

The man who staffed the hostel at night was rude and not very friendly. Every question we had he answered like he had a grudge against us. But the lady was sweet. The bathroom was gross and smelt. Also its not very soundproof so you can hear the other dorm mates in the toilet . Breakfast was average. Just eggs and toast even though they said they had pancakes. Its only got stairs which isnt a problem unless you were on the top floor like us and felt like you climbed Mt Everest by the time you got to your floor.
