The Colosseum Boutique Hotel & Spa is a decent hotel with a good location. Some rooms had minor issues such as cockroaches and a faulty air conditioner. The gym and pool in the neighboring building a (Read More)re large and well-equipped, although the sauna is not up to standard. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The food and drinks were amazing, and the area around the hotel is safe for walks and runs.

Superb

Very good value for a business stay, with staff, breakfast and the gym as standouts

The staff was very kind and accommodating of my many requests. In particular I appreciated that they were always available to help me find a taxi service, and my local colleague confirmed that their taxi connections were very affordable. I also really liked being able to access the gym. The breakfast was excellent and always had high-quality fruit - which I would expect but do not always receive in similar climates.

I did not like the design of the room very well - especially the bathroom layout. Mirrors and lights were clearly not planned for women who desire to apply makeup, and the location of the wardrobe was a bit awkward. The room still served all my needs and was perfectly functional, but it was not "top".

The place looks nice on the outside.

The bathroom doors were broken, showers not working properly. The bathroom is damp and water keeps leaking on the bathroom tiles. The rooms seem not safe the side windows don't lock well.

Disappointing

Becoming a shadow of what was once a nice clean and comfortable hotel. Will stay elsewhere..

The food at the restaurant is good and the portions are generous. Location is very good and close to other restaurants and pubs in Oyster Bay, which is the best area in Dar. Gym is part of the complex and very nice. Squash courts and swimming pool for those interested.

The bathroom was not acceptable! there is an old dirty bath in there that has an ancient notice on it apologising for the fact that it is "unserviceable". The shower door was broken and apart from being dangerous, in that it could come of the wall due to the bracket pulling out of the wall, the door did not close properly as a result, and the bathroom floods every time you shower. Shower door handle missing. the shower drain was badly blocked and you showered in rising water. In spite of reporting both the shower door and blocked drain, these were not resolved. A weak attempt at fixing the drain was done. the aircon did not work properly, in the Dar sweltering heat and humidity this is a major deal breaker. Mosquito nets on the windows are damaged and do not close properly. TV signal is poor and content equally disappointing. While I have no real problem with soap in wall dispensers, it is not what I have come to expect from Colosseum. If you going to go that route, make them quality and upmarket, not COVID leftovers. the check-out was lengthy with printer cartridge problems and I did not get my requested wakeup call! could have missed my 3am flight. not the Colosseum I am used to. slowly getting worse. will most likely not stay there again.

Comfortable.

Rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and prompt in terms of room services.

The Breakfast place needs a drastic improvement, as the breakfast is below standard compared to other 3-star properties. The promotional vouchers were offered during check-out instead of check-in.
