Not that we didn't like it but you need to walk down to the beach for breakfast. Very nice Cafe with great breakfast. It's good to get some exercising done.

Deeply disappointing with neglectful hosts.

It is an attractive and well-presented guest house.

The house is a death trap if you are older or have children: steep stone stairway without hand-rails is the only access to the apartment from the outside of the house after office hours. It is slippery when wet, and consists of more than 20 stairs. The host did not communicate how keys or entrances worked. Did not answer the door bell at 11pm when we got back after dinner out, and we did not know about the gate and stairs outside the house that we were supposed to use as access after dark. We found it after 20 minutes of puzzling; I couldn't leave my 82 year old mother to negotiate the stairs on her own without a torch or lighting. The bath was also too high to use for an older person, and there was no alternative. We moved out of there the next morning, forfeiting our full payment, but it was worth it to know that my mum wasn't injured or worse.

Welcoming host Mauritz . Lovely bright suite kept sparkling clean by Aggie and Maggie . Beautiful gardens and pool area felt very private and secluded.

Small overpriced room - prebooking info is misleading

The rooms and beds are small, but clean. The rooms do not have an airco. Bathroom is medium large and has a good shower. There is a water cooker, and a fridge. Wifi is good, and does work during load shedding. You can park your car in front of the hotel.The parking area is not locked with a gate.

Far Horizons is not a guesthouse, but is an AirBnB set-up with a few rooms in a family house in Camps Bay near Capetown, so the owner can make a few quick bucks. This is a popular holiday destination and this is reflected in the price, which is high for the facilities offered. Upon arrival one is welcomed by a housekeeper with a very short introduction and the only contact we have had with the owner was a terse email that we were expected to check out by 10am. This is a bit offensive as breakfast is to be had at another location more than 1 km away, and it only starts at 9amWhen booking, all rooms seem to have sea views, but we looked out on a blind wall with a waterreservoir (photo). We asked for another room, but did not get it. Towels were not changed during our stay (2 nights). Rooms are noisy, which is problematic as there are many people passing by in the house (both owner + family and other guests) through the day and night. Another source of noise is the ill-fitting door that starts clapping when the wind picks up. Stairs are steep and not suitable for handicapped people - this might be mentioned in the booking info. Breakfast is not provided, but offered elsewhere (The Pottery at 1.2 km) with a voucher of R110 per person, and only starts at 9am. This is disingenuous, as breakfast was promised to be included when booking; one assumes this is on-site and not 1 km away at a place where it is difficult to park a car. The voucher of R110 is not enough for 1 sandwich + cappuccino, which costs R125 at the Pottery. I noticed many reviewers complaining about this rip-off, but the owner apparently does not care, as this situation continues.
