Superb

Stay at design ashram is an experience by itself.

The best thing about ashram are people. People who work there, manage it and most importantly the ones who travel to design ashram. I got to meet a lot of wonderful people. The place in itself is an art. Evening vibes in the Gujarati street is an experience.

More number of washrooms. Hot water for bath on request basis (probably at an additional cost)

Beautiful place that makes you feel comfortable and at home. When I am back in Calicut I will be back!

The property felt was very community focused and it had a really friendly atmosphere. The courtyard is beautiful and you feel away from the city! It would be easy to have a relaxing, work trip here, but as a solo traveller I was also easily able to make friends and have a fun night. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The place is very pretty and well maintained.Stayed here for 2 days and without any doubt can say one of the best accommodation in kozhikode. The caretaker and property manager were very welcoming and helpful..Also the location is perfect as all the best food places are just metres away. Would recommend to people who are looking for a comfortable stay in kozhikode

Design Ashram the best of Calicut

It was my first experience as a traveller after deciding to stay in design ashram a place very unique, quirky and creative. Who would have imagined that a dormitory would be the perfect place to unwind, relax and be yourself. The experience was one of a kind as you take a stroll around the localities. Gujarati Street, Halwa bazaar, Bazaar road, SM Street all steeped in rich history, culture and art. The location of D A was perfect as it gave me walkable access to explore the best of Calicut including beaches. The banayan tree inside D A cannot go without mention as that's what you see first as you enter and it stays with you intimately throughout your stay. The staff, who mainly was one the caretaker Mohan chettan and the manager Mr Sherbas makes you feel comfortable instantly. Mohan chettan lives in D A and takes care of the inmates like family. He is a true musician as he plays the violin passionately and if you are lucky may get a private performance. All in all a very unique experience.

A Must Stay For Solo Backpackers

The courtyard is very charming and a great place to sit with a book. The dorm was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Arguably the best hostel experience of my life.
