Good basic homestay. Great comms and availability from host, Mayur

We had a good, basic, large room which was clean and had comfortable beds. A good breakfast was included. Mayur was very good at communications. He works very hard to provide a good service. He offers a lot of extras in terms of trips out and it is easy to book with him if you want to make it easy for yourself and pay a little extra. We had one problem when no-one turned up for our 5am boat trip on the river, but Mayur responded immediately to our message and apologised. I think he'd probably forgotten to book it tbh. The river is only 17 mins walk (no motorised tuktuks) and there are so many people offering boats you could do this yourself. The place is a homestay and has no identifying signs at all. We arrived late at night and had booked a car transfer which was really worth it - we wouldn't have found it otherwise. We also booked a transfer to DDU station which was very reliable too. The location is really worth it, very central and close to many shops and the river. Good value for money.

The best feautures of the place are without doubt the superb staff (particularly our host Mayur), nice homely atmosphere, delicious home-cooked meals and the optional tour packages (which we found to be excellent value). The building is quite old but kept very clean and tidy and has all basic necessities.

The immediate neighbourhood is a little noisy. We were warned not to keep the balcony door open for fear of monkeys stealing belongings. The charges are a little high considering the austerity of the rooms.

For us, the friendliness of Mayur and his team, as well as his prompt service -- from room-related help to even taking us around the old alleys himself when the guide canceled --- was what won our hearts. His recommendations are excellent, and we really got the best out of this short trip ( 3 nights) because of him. I wish him and his team all the best, and I highly recommend this place.
