Exceptional

Dee was probably the nicest host we have ever met. Even on Christmas Eve, he went above and beyond to make sure that we would have the best time during our stay. It was very interesting to hear his stories about such a historical landmark in old San Diego, which is definitely worth a visit by itself.

Pleasant stay with feel of old west.

Old western charm in Old Town Park, surrounded by history, great food and close to train and light rail minutes from downtown. Friendly staff, decent continental breakfast. Historic wood structure over adobe, but clean, fresh linens, comfortable and good indoor air quality that did not aggravate allergies.

Entry was hard to find. Reception desk inside a fenced courtyard. Look for a rustic wood wall with gate between hotel and blacksmith sign. Call for innkeeper to let you in.

Door to room lock was inoperable after having unpacked and settled in. Needed to move to another room since there was no one on staff to fix the door. The new room was fine except the toilet kept running all night and needed to be jiggled in order to stop.

Disappointing

I selected the hotel due to the location and passed memories of staying in old town. Im glad I had a parking pass, which was helpful.

I felt the hotel was way more run down than what the photos in the booking app showed. Zero amenities. Property manager was sweet but staff was not friendly.

The location was accommodating, and comfortable for our stay, but remained true to its 1800s vibe.

Access to the interior of the hotel grounds was a little quirky and clear entrance signage was lacking.
