Club Himalaya, by ACE Hotels, offers amazing views and wonderful hospitality. The rooms are clean and neat, though they had fewer bedsheets than expected. The amenities are great, but the hotel is no (Read More)t wheelchair friendly, causing difficulties for some guests. The food is delicious, and the location provides remarkable views of the Himalayas. However, breakfast portions are small and pricey compared to other hotels nearby. Overall, the stay was enjoyable with good service and lovely views. The only drawbacks were occasional power outages and lumpy mattresses.

The hotel/room had gorgeous views of the Himalayan mountains. The staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, that was about the best thing for the hotel.
The hotel is rated as a 4 star property, but in my opinion, it's rating should be less than the 3 star property I stayed at in Kathmandu. The hotel offered a pool, Jacuzzi, spa, etc, which I'm sure is counted towards it's Star rating. However, for a 4 star property, there was no fridge in the room that you could use to chill your beverages or your left overs. They charged 250 rupees for a bucket of ice so you could have a cold beer in your room. The buffet (breakfast as well as dinner) while fairly large wasn't all that appetizing. Room service was mediocre. The minute you stepped down the stairs towards the property exit, there were hawkers trying to sell you pictures, etc or hikes and excursions. Long story, short... You're just paying for the view.

The staff and the hotel room were great.
The pool and other facilities were old and in need of renovation. The photos show a much more modern hotel. As a result I thought it was very expensive, and did not represent good value.
