This hotel location is central to everything in Chennai. Highly recommend

I am from Hawaii USA, I visited Chennai for Christmas 2023 and stayed at the Clarion Hotel President for eleven days. I liked the hotel layout, the elevators were fast and quiet and the lobby had a beautiful Christmas tree with festive music and welcoming atmosphere as soon as I walked in. The rooms were huge, much bigger than American standard hotel rooms and very comfortable. All the amenities were there as any luxury hotel provides. Coffee maker and free waters, shampoos etc etc. There was a smart TV but I did not need it. The free Wi-Fi was strong. The shower could fit two people easily and the water downpour makes you want to stay in longer. It came with a free buffet breakfast that starts your day on a happy note. The hotel itself was excellent with swimming pools etc etc but the thing that makes this hotel stand out most was the staff. The People they hired are the best in service and friendliness and made my stay so good and enjoyable. There was Dhiraj with his Santa hat greeting me at every breakfast with a genuine happy smile, Murali, Prem Kumar and Abhay Singh all made my stay so good and memorable. There were so many others and I thank you all for your great services to your guests. I highly recommend this Hotel and team, and I will certainly stay here again. All the best Sent from my iPhone

Amenities should be there. Like ironing. Prefered for extra bed which was told of extra cost. Food was ok. Not much options in breakfast

For transparency, I contacted the hotel with my concerns 4 days ago and have not heard back - Dirty sheets, smoking room smell sprayed with harsh chemicals was toxic and I couldn't stay in the room, cigarette burns and stains on duvet and all bedding...system for internet required constantly renewing paper tickets from the front desk. no assistance from conciergerie on booking local tourist activities - ' we have no information Sir'

Okayish stay

When arrived I asked if I could check in early but couldnt as the property was full that day but the staff let me use the washroom and I later went for my office. The staff was nice.

At evening I checked in and the room they had was a spacious one but the washroom had smoke smell. The room wasnt prepared. The TV was not working. No bin in the washroom, overhead shower issues and water wasnt hot enough, no room slippers provided. After repeated complaints they tried to solve the issues one by one but still lacked in service. I asked for a new room but as it was on a higher floor with dim lights I did not take it but to clean the existing room to which they did not do much.

We had a good stay at the Clarion President.

Spacious and clean rooms. Decent breakfast. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Bedsheets were stained. Housekeeping staff changed them promptly after we reported the issue. Main lifts were not working on one day. Had to use service lift.
