1# Day 1 stay was good. We decided to inform the hotel about change in our plans to travel to Pune and to extend our stay. We were 2 adults with one 7 year old with a pre agreed rate. At the reception, there was an absolutely irate guest screaming his lungs out at the lady from reception staff about needing a full day tarrif refund for not providing high tea for the earlier evening, and for providing poor quality and options of food in the buffet for dinner. Now comes the good part.... The staff were absolutely apologetic and actually agreed to his demands in front of me, but the irate guest wanted more. I was waiting patiently for this scene to subside for 45 minutes before asking one of the staff very politely to call me in my room once they were available to confirm my extension. The receptionist lady called me back an hour later with an absolutely disgusted tone and informed me of 1.5 times the room tariff. I agreed to the increased rate after considering and politely negotiating. I then politely requested for a mattress to be included for my kid, to which the lady having her bad day decided to pass on her bad day to us with applying additional charge equivalent to 1/4 my room rate for the mattress, as she realised we were with child. I again politely requested the mattress charges to be removed, as we were happy guests who just wanted to complete our extended stay with a comfortable nights sleep, but the reception Empress was not the slightest interested. My wife and I were now feeling insulted for this demand despite agreeing to pay 1.5 times the agreed rate from earlier day for three people. Mattresses were lined up right outside our room doors and lying unused. We checked out in next 15 minutes as now we were disgusted with the experience going sour within minutes, despite us being ready to pay a premium but not with our self-respect.
