Disappointing

Never again. Not worth it.

By Sri Lankan standards, this hotel is definitely too expensive for what you get. There are far better hotels that are much cheaper. All prices are in dollars and not in rupees which makes the whole thing (eating/drinking) quite expensive. The wifi in the rooms did not work so it was not possible to turn on the TV. There was only a breakfast for 20 dollars, it was not possible to get anything separately Definitely not worth the money. It is too expensive. Better to switch to another hotel / accommodation.

Comfy rooms. We stayed over Christmas and the entire team went over and above to make the day special and help us celebrate

A very unique property

The Staff at the property were very accommodating with our request and was able to whip up a tasty meal for us when we requested. I believe I had the best sri Lankan food at this property despite already been in the island for more than a week. I loved the cold and the wind of the area and where the property was located

I had a beautiful room with a breathtaking view of the mountains. It was so lovely to see early morning. The property is very tastefully furnished throughout and the food was just amazing. Ended up staying an extra night

Terrible service, NO WATER IN BATHROOM, avoid avoid avoid.

Althought the location was outside of Ella, we were aware of this and the view was fabulous.

There was a lot that was pretty terrible about this hotel, and I would never ever recommend this as an option to any traveller: 1. The water ran out TWICE in the morning, a bit unfortunate when someone is already in the bathroom. The response from the property staff was unacceptable, as they tried to shift the entire blame on our driver. Note - if your water runs out, and the customer is giving you enough time for the "tanks to refill" and it still isn't available multiple hours later, this is an issue on the property. It's highly unprofessional to shift the blame to someone else, as the customer I do not care. They tried to mitigate by offering a 25% refund, but still continued to blame the driver even with the final communication. Abhorrent. 2. Difficult to get to the location, no one answered the number on the booking.com profile although we called more than 5 times to get some help. 3. We requested a slightly later checkout time (12pm vs the 11am time) and the staff was hesitant to provide it - even though we were the *only* guests at the property.

This is our second time at CheRiz. Everything was absolutely perfect. Tastefully decorated, hospitable staff, breathtaking views and excellent food. Highly recommend the steak!

Not our taste

The water pressure and the shower were good, the shower head is height-adjustable and it has a magnifying mirror. The staff is very friendly.

Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet our taste. The lobby is nicely decorated, but the seat cushions already have holes. The dining area is not appealing, our tablecloth always had the same stains and was never changed. The room was superficially clean, the curtains and the carpet urgently need a basic cleaning. The bed linen is freshly washed but has stains, it should be replaced. Not enough shelf in the bathroom available.
