Very nice and helpful staff; the villas are perfect for those who wish to stay in nature and are not pretentious; good and fresh food; wonderful view

The villas are outdated; the villas pool is not cleaned daily; the bathroom is practically outside, no door; a lot of bugs, mosquitoes, worms inside the villa because of the free spaces between inside and outside:); the towels are outdated; the villas are outside Ubud, who is saying that will take less than 40 mi. to reach the center of Ubud is lying.

Magnificant view from hotel, but the price compare to Bali is too big

- very beautiful villas. - magnificent private pool. - tasty included breakfast. -beautiful view from windows and infinity pool. -tasty welcome drink.

-at first day we wanted to relax after long trip, but there was some problem with electricity. Staff tried to fix it in our room, so we were forced to wait even we simply wanted to sleep. -we were here at out honeymoon, its the one hotel that didnt prepare even a small surprise. -staff trying to be very friendly and polite, but often its difficult to communicate in english

The view is what we booked for and it's exactly what we hoped for! We spent many hours by the pool enjoying the view and privacy of our villa. The room was a good size and very comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was perfectly sufficient and well cooked.

Paying for transport every time we wanted to go into Ubud centre. A free shuttle would have been handy.

Wonderful few days here.

The gorgeous view, the private pool, absolutely lovely staff, great food and the room was awesome. We loved our stay at the Black Penny.

Be aware there are lots of stairs to get up and down to the rooms! The staff helped with our luggage but it is good to be prepared. Ask for a high up room when booking to reduce the stairs. It is a little bit out of Ubud centre but easy to get a driver from the hotel or a local taxi.
