Modern stay in Ancient China

We loved the Ancient China theme of the Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Even before we got to the Hotel they were very prompt with their replies and even helped us locate the driver who had to pick us up from the train station. We also loved the traditional outfits that were available that could be worn for free for personal photos. We spent quite a few hours dressing up and taking personal photos around the Hotel:)

A novel and friendly stay - great for first time visitors to Beijing!

The staff were extremely polite, helpful and overall friendly. They would do anything to make sure the stay was comfortable, upon checking out we were even given a lovely gift to depart with. The location is fantastic and close to many places to eat, drink and commute on the subway for tourist attractions.

While the overall place was clean, there was damp and mould in the bathroom. Difficult to avoid in an older building, but if you suffer from any breathing illnesses like I do, it's just something to be aware of.

Loved the traditional style and decor. Staff were great. Particular thanks to Henry - very kind and helpful and always smiling.

Nothing really - apart from the dead fish in the turtle pot and sad animal in the cage.

Great experience to stay in a Historical and Cultural accommodation!

Excellent customer service, good varieties of food to choose for breakfast, good room size, good location in Beijing, enjoyed the historical and cultural of the accommodation.

In the middle of the long street, need to walk at least 5 to 7 minutes to get to the main road. No parking spots.

Highly recommended for leusure visits and for the authenticity of the place

Picturesque and authentic, a walk back in the past (but with modern comfort). Wonderful staff starting from the reception with Alyce and Henry, making you feel welcome and always ready to answer any questions and to assist with bookings from visits to taxi. The rest of the crew for breakfast and housekeeping also pleasant.

The staff at this hotel are the highlight of my entire experience at the hotel. They were so helpful and kind, and I was perpetually lost as well because most map apps are inaccurate and I don't speak mandarin. Despite my multiple questions they did their best to help and plan my itinerary each day, including how to get to the Great Wall etc. They are not pushy and don't hard sell you on any of the tours/services they have.

The rooms were quite cold, and because it is an old property, the floors and facilities were also old. I was freezing each time I went to shower, but I was also there in the fall/winter time. This is not going to be a problem outside of these seasons.
