BBQ Hub Ella is a beautiful hotel with exceptional staff and a comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are clean with hot and cold water, and it is conveniently located within walking distance of the town (Read More)and tourist attractions. The breakfast is good, but reviewers recommend adding a Sri Lankan option. The hotel has a wood-fired pizza oven and BBQ tables, although they were not used during the stay. The staff is dedicated and attentive, providing excellent service. Despite being visited during the low season, the staff made every effort to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable stay.

Good

Industrial style hotel with great staff

The location was great with a massage parlour, tailor, supermarket and many cafes and restaurants near by. The staff genuinely cared about our stay and made us welcome.

We stayed in a family room And ideally there would have been more hooks on walls to hang towels and jackets and bench space in bathroom would also be handy.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

Location is good so look for other homestays or hotels on this road.

Where to begin. During Christmas my girlfriend and I wanted to treat ourselves by staying somewhere a little bit out of our price range and oh boy was that a mistake. Just on a face value this place is ridiculously overpriced, the rooms are tiny, the bathroom floods and the staff (one in particular) were rude. There are far nicer and way cheaper places ON THE SAME ROAD and that's not even to mention our experience of it which was largely negative. We had termites in our room and it was up to us to sort them out as the staff said they were ants (they weren't I know what an ant looks like) and said that it was our fault they were in the room as we bought SEALED food into the room. We had to buy our own termite spray to kill them as the staff didn't seem to understand/care. Needless to say that was massively disappointing and we felt dirty just being in the room so we avoided it as much as humanly possible. Do yourself a massive favour and don't stay here.

Quiet hotel in the city center

Very modern hotel in a quiet place in the center of Ella. The staff is really kind and the rooms have a nice set up. I recommend it.

No places for luggage but its alright, its manageable.

Great location, super staff

Great location - 5 min walk from town. Modern, clean look to the rooms and beds were comfy. Staff were a 10/10 - extremely helpful with organising taxis, cooking course, etc. Bathroom was a good size

Might need a shower door/ curtain as bathroom floor would flood. Room was quite compact - didnt matter to us as we were out a lot but some might find this a problem given the amount youre paying. Wifi was bad.

Excellent hotel, would stay again

Excellent location, 5 min walk to the main road. Really comfortable rooms, we stayed in a family room and a double room. The staff, especially Ram, could not have done more to help us. The restaurant was only open for breakfast- but the hotel were able to arrange meals if we wanted.

Double room was on the smaller size but for us we needed a place to put our head down after exploring the city - so it didn't bother us.

Superb

Good basis for a short stay in Ella

Super friendly and helpful staff. Good and extensive breakfast (fresh juice, coffee, fruits, Pancakes, french toast, plain toast and a selection of honey, marmelade plus chocolate sirup). Free drop off with a tuktuk at the train station. Short waking distance to the centre. AC turns automatically off after it reaches the selected temperature. Cool style.

Small rooms. Nearly no sun as the hotel is at the foot of a hill. The balcony faces towards the hill, so no view. The shower is nice, but its hard not to flood the bathroom while showering.

Goodl location. Poor layout of bathroom.

The location and breakfast.

There was no electricity at 1 side of the wall. The layout of the bathroom - you will wet the whole floor and toilet bowl. Watch out for the corner of the bed. 3 out of 4 of us got bruise because of that.

Not worth the money for comfortable night

Staff were very helpful and location superb

Walls are so thin you can almost here other people dreaming, let alone their conversations. AC was barely working and very load to a point it was uncomfortable to get some sleep. Cleanliness was okay, until you looked closer, then was hard to ignore.
