Amazing place for anyone looking to have a great quiet stay while experiencing all cairns has

A great place to stay for anyone looking to come back to a peaceful place to get a great rest between adventures! The property is full of great and helpful people that respect eachother. I even had a friend choose to stay with me over her hostel becuase it was so much quieter.

Central and cheap asylum in Cairns

We had a rather clean room with three beds, of which we used only two. When arriving the host Annie gave us cutlery, mugs, plates and a kitchen towel for us to use, which was really nice. Annie was always very kind and helpful. There was free cold water at our disposal in the common area. Very central.

It felt a little bit like an asylum, with the old buildings and decoration. Most of the guests staying here are men over 50. Some of the residents were very kind while some others kept to themselves and seemed a little strange.

Disappointing

It was cheap and close to the city which was what I needed being there only for a short time to attend a course in the city. It had a fan and air con in the room and a study desk which was all I needed.

My room was on the ground floor and all I could hear all night was people walking around and moving things around in the floor above me. Also there was a Louvre window in my room which had no security screens on it and when I opened it, it was directly outside the carpark and really close to this really dodgy looking house and I was paranoid someone might try to break into my room by just opening and removing the louvres. You could also hear people coming and going from the car park all night and somehow bugs would get into the room which was really annoying. The managers were really good though and had a strict lights out rule by 10:30pm in all common areas so people weren't partying outside the room all night etc.

Cheap, clean, convenient accommodation with basic facilities.

Great location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and the sheets and bed very clean.

The room was tidy but there air conditioning unit was covered in dirty dust, there was a huge cockroach on the wall and I had several Cain beetles crawl across my bed while I was sitting on it. The toilet in the shared bathroom was clean. However the shared shower was full of crumbling mouldy grout and grime.
