A lot of things are intended to be good and luxurious, but finally not achieve this. Examples:
- Check-In takes around 30 minutes including several signatures etc., while staying on a lounge in the entrance, but the "welcome tea" is served afterwards, so you have to stay there even longer to drink
- The interior of entrance, restaurant (breakfast), etc. is well meant and for sure expensive, but does not follow a style concept. Further feels cold and not heartly chosen
- Gym is small and not up to date but OK, Swimming pool is (too) cold
- Spa is not opened on Sundays, what is strange, especially there is not so much else you can do on a rainy day in Nuwara Eliya
- All rain gutters from the roof are not connected to gutters that brings the rain to the ground, so everywhere around the hotel the rain is falling on the entrance way/ sidewalk/ garden/...
- After every electricity drop (what happened often there) some relays are making noise when electricity comes back, what will wake you up in the night
- Breakfast room is a catastrophe from design and how the food is served. Feels very cold. Sausages were catastrophic (many gristle), positive highlight were the cakes and sweets
- Rusty water comes the first 10 seconds in the bathtub, afterwards seems to be clean
- Staff is friendly and motivated but could be trained how to finally let the people feal like in a "grand" hotel
