A beautiful retreat with welcoming staff and spectacular views.

The Amara Ayurveda Retreat is a small but beautiful place hidden away in the mountains but only a short drive from Kovalam Beach. The resort is beautifully kept and the staff have been welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was exceptional with the chef cooking eggs and other treats to order. The food for lunch/dinner was super tasty - a great selection and great value for money. The saltwater pool was refreshing and because of the size of the resort, it was never crowded. We also made use of the ayurveda treatment options, which we'd highly recommend. Great value for money and very relaxing. We could've easily spent all day there without ever leaving.

The place is very hidden away and the roads up to it quite bumpy and a bit dodgy looking. Some of our taxi drivers were a bit confused on where to go but managed to find it after all. A new building is currently under construction to accommodate more guests in the future. While there was some construction noise, it wasn't disruptive at all.

Exceptional setting and views of neraby hills, clean, focus on sustainability, good breakfast, polite staff and clean pool.

As anticipated, without a personal car, it can be challenging to visit Trivandrum or Kovalam.

It gives an earthy vibe upon entering the report and the same is maintained in the room as well. We got a few ayurvedic spa treatments done as well and it was really good.

Information sharing about the spa treatments were not up to the mark. We had checked about prerequisites a couple of days back but their revert was once you come to the center you can check and upon reaching there, they said such treatments require pre work on their end so can't be done now

Comfortable resort with a great pool.

The outlook and the layout of the property was lovely and our rooms were very comfortable with everything we needed. The pool was fantastic.

Bright lights shining in my room all night and the spa was pretty ordinary. There is construction going on so it was pretty noisy - certainly not as relaxing as we thought it would be.
