Decent place to stay a night or two, location is close to a train station, so while you're not at center of the city, it is quick enough to reach

No kettles in the room, there's a Starbucks vending machine downstairs. Heating/cooling at the room seemed centralized, trying to crank up or down the heating had no effect

I got a free upgrade. Room was large and nicely furnished. Breakfast buffet was tasty, varied, and very well laid out. Extremely close to the train station.

Decent for a Zurich hotel, falls short for a Mercure residence

Decent hotel which is two stops away from the main train station (its not in the city centre but there are trains to the city centre pretty regularly)

The rooms were too warm, and the thermostat is apparently a dummy because the staff said the heating is standardised throughout the building. Was provided a small table fan when i raised this up, so survived the second night fine... The additional issue i had was that they hadn't made clear where the parking spots were in the front(we paid for parking, was told the front is fine, but actually, not all the spots in front of the hotel are hotel parking AND there are no P-Hotel signs out front), and so was fined for parking in the wrong area. In their defense, it was dark and snowing, and they refunded my parking payment. I would recommend either making this clearer or checking or to allow guests to park underground without then making them pay more.

The spa is great! The bed is excellent.

Both USB connectors on the window side of the bed didnt work. The outside courtains dindt work. Prices went up CHF 50 from one day to the next (over 30% rise!)

Amazing stay, excellent breakfast, spacious room got an immediate upgrade. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Location is fantastic, just next to Coop and also few mins away from Altstatten train station which is 6 mins away from Zurich Hauptbahnhoff (main train station). Definitely coming bach to Mercure Zurich City, thanks for the amazing stay.

Superb

Good option when visiting Zrich

The hotel is close by (walking distance) from Altsteten train station and bus station. The hotel has a hotel bar, restaurant and an awesome hotel store with a variety of cold beers, wine, soda's and snacks. Open 24/7, and allowed to drink with friends in the spacious lobby - after the hotel bar closed. Had lovely evenings in the lobby of the hotel. The beds are super comfortable, the rooms are decent sized and have all the amenities.

It was close to the Swiss Life Arena where we had a convention and it was very close to the train stop of Alstetten.

Generally it was ok though I really wish that they had covers for the hot beverage. They offered hot water for free from the Starbucks self serve near the registration area. However, when you are trying to to bring a hot beverage without a lid, there is a greater possibility of getting burned by the hot liquid, which happened to me. So I do have a nasty red scar to remember the hotel by. I would have been happy to pay for the cup cover to ensure that I dont get burned. So be careful. I guess better yet, pack your own container.

Very poor

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in

There wasn't much to like. It's not too far from the train station.

I could write a book about what we didn't like. Most of the staff were extremely rude. We booked a triple room but there was only one double bed and a small sofa. The description said sofa and sofa bed. There was trash from previous guests under the bed and I don't think housekeeping ever cleaned under the bed during the week we stayed. Bed sheets were clean but torn. We had to ask for clean towels every day because they took the used ones and only left towels for one or two people. There is no tea kettle or anything to make coffee or tea. The response was that we could buy it (at outrageous prices) downstairs. Every morning I came downstairs there were still wine bottles and garbage from the previous night in the hallway and outside. I think they only picked up trash in front of the hotel once a day. The spa is only open from 3-10 pm so I never got to see it because no one is ever at the hotel during those hours while traveling. I went for lunch in the restaurant once and paid CHF 30+- for almost nothing. There were only a few items to choose from and only one that I could have. I didn't talk to anyone who actually liked the hotel food. Dinner at the restaurant was also very expensive and below mediocre quality. The internet connection is terrible. Sometimes we couldn't connect for hours and hours. I didn't feel welcome at all and would never stay there again.
