Royal yet relaxing stay in a historical, beautiful orchad surroundingd

Such a beautiful, historical vast property with so much to see and do to relax without even having to go out. The in house restaurant and the high tea with a lake view makes one feel so special and welcomed. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to help you - we got a jeep tour of the property and enjoyed the beautiful orchards and the lake views.

Hard to say anything bad about the property honestly but perhaps the choice of tea and coffee sachets in the rooms should be rethought. Some more branding of the property in the toiletries pack, better slippers, a smarter TV etc would have been the touch of luxury to our stay. The noise from the nearby mines on our way to the swimming pool was occasionally too loud.

Unbelievable garden!

Garden. Vast, wonderful garden with peacocks, langurs and other animals. You can walk for miles and enjoy its beauty and serenity. This is true oasis of tranquility.

I am comparing with other WelcomHeritage hotels we were staying in India: For the price we were paying, I would at least expect breakfast to be included and some complimentary drinks in the minibar. Room was nicely decorated but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Toilet did not flush and hot water did not run at the sink (no issues with shower). These two issues seem to be persistant and not resolved (we were not the first one who complained) Overall it is a beautiful property but we were unlucky with our room. For the price we paid , there are better options to consider.

Bal Samand Lake Palace is a beautiful property which needs to upgrade its facilities and services.

Amazing heritage property located on the Bal Samand Lake... beautiful gardens with peacocks, birds, monkeys .

Rooms are dated, bathrooms definitely need overhauling, shower was not working which needed to be fixed. Breakfast was fresh with limited options. Was shocked to find stale food served for dinner in room service which was later replaced on complaining.

Isolated and effectively shut - Avoid in the off season!

The pictures on booking.com looked nice, and it had good reviews.

When we tried to postpone our stay by a couple of days the hotel was unresponsive, though deducted the full cost (34,000 INR for 2 rooms for 2 nights) from my card. After numerous calls to the hotel and booking.com we finally got the dates changed, but it was a lot of work! The rooms were dingy, and the hotel was vacant except for a few security guards, with the main palace undergoing renovations - presumably because July was the off season. Since we did not feel secure in this isolated spot, and did not have our own car, we decided it was wiser not to stay, so we left, and lost our money.

The natural environment was gorgeous! The palace, farming and wide assortment of wildlife and flowers were gorgeous and interesting! The monkeys were wildly entertaining. The tour i took with the tour guide, Cajole was a highlight! The breakfast was filling and delicious! There was a good variety of breakfast food and drinks.

The mattress on the bed was hard and uncomfortable. I didnt sleep well on this mattress. It was a challenge to find the hotel property. We couldt find any signage of the property or street signs. The only way to find the property was to call for directions.
