We enjoyed the whole experience , very relaxing staff brilliant

The ambience, felt you were back in the 19th century

Unfortunately we had problems with WiFi and the jacuzzi wasnt operable could do lots more to make the roof terrace attractive and welcome

Very good

Felt very welcome and would recommend.

Breakfasts were average/good - restaurant meals served all day were very good and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Loved the charm and ambience of a heritage hotel.

Would have appreciated a hairdryer in the bedroom

Superb atmospheric character hotel in great location.

Beautiful period furniture but good air con and Wi-Fi . Fantastic staff, comfortable bed and great breakfast. Verandah restaurant attached serves the best club sandwiches! We loved it.

Great, quaint property in a superb location

The property is in a perfect location in Fontainhas, very quaint and historic Portuguese style. The staff were lovely and so helpful.

My room smelled a little musty but I was only there for one night.

Would recommend.

We had a very late flight and arrived at 3am, but hotel wee fine with that - overnight staff checked us in. Nice pair of four posters a very welcoming sight. Really well located in the old town in a lovely heritage building. Short walk tot he Mandovi river casinos if that's your thing, or old town shopping also just 5-10 mins walk away. Had a street-side room but no problems with street noise. They hardly mention that there's a plunge pool on the roof, but it's there and free to use and great after a long day. It's not heated but doesn't need to be (November). Major highlight for us was that they agreed to let me into the kitchen to learn how to make a curry (I requested vindaloo). Very accommodating of chef Birju and his team. Naturally, the best vindaloo I've ever eaten! Balcony restaurant is a nice place for sundowner or to eat dinner.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to return there.

It had character - that's why I chose it. And I was not disappointed. It was like stepping into the past, but with the necessities of the present (air-conditioning, fridge). Staff enormously helpful - quite exceptional. Breakfast catered for Indian and Western needs.

There was nothing I didn't like. Any tiny faults were a consequence of the building being a historical building. If you choose accommodation of this kind, you have to accept the implications. Nothing disturbed me.
