We will never contact this host again because she placed us in a very poor situation.

The host contacted us the day before to let us know we would not be able to stay at the original location we had booked due to repair issues. She let us know that there was another hotel we could stay at which she booked for us. We arrived to find a mold infested room that was completely inhabitable. We were left to have to search for a place to stay on our own.

The hotel the host booked for us was mold infested.

It worked fine for what we wanted to do during our visit to Pasadena.

Breakfasts were quite good Room was comfortable and as described Plenty of hot water!

Should have described the access driveway - very steep, narrow, such that we would not navigate it after dark which impacted our dinner plans. Also the advertised wine and cheese each evening did not happen. The front door was locked earlier than we were told.

Absolutely stunning location. Perfect to explore Alhambra and Pasadena from instead of cookie cutter hotels. Just charming. Self check in. Historic and lovely site. We will be back. Breakfast was terrific in just marvelous dining room . Really a wonderful place to stay

An addenda. I was not offered a receipt for the payment , so i asked for one from the Inn. Turns i was charged $18 for breakfast. Breakfast is included in the room charge according to website. So i asked for a refund. I did NOT get a response from Inn. So i disputed the overcharge on my credit card. I standby my review above of the property , but i will add that you need to get a receipt for all charges associated with the Inn

Definitely would book again

The porch off the room was amazing. The whole place was beautiful and comfortable. Loved the wine in the afternoon and the honor bar. We were allowed a late checkout, which was very helpful with our travel plans.

Breakfast was very bland. Sausage had no flavor. Server needed to be more attentive with coffee, etc. Usually B and B's have a little more "special" breakfast than what you get at a regular hotel.

Very comfortable and clean. Great for those that want privacy.

The room was very comfortable and I slept well every night. Everything felt very clean. I could occasionally hear other guests in the room below, but most guests were quiet and respectful so it wasn't a big issue. Wifi worked well. Room was more updated than the photos on booking.com (laminate floors replaced the carpet) which was a nice plus.

Communication could be improved upon a little. The place has a self-service feel, though the innkeepers are reachable by text or phone if you need them. Improvements could include a welcome email (that shared the door code for easy check-in -- this seemed to be their standard practice, but I didn't receive the email for some reason). Also, since innkeepers are not around as much, a self-service area for restocking items like toilet paper or tissues yourself would have been nice, as I didn't want to disturb the innkeepers via phone late at night. Only other unfortunate thing is I tried to get breakfast one morning, but no one came out after 10 minutes so I left. I would have loved to try the breakfast, but not knowing how quickly I'd be served made me choose more reliable restaurant options as I was on a set schedule for work. Many others seemed to enjoy the breakfast though, so this may have been a rare circumstance.
