Thriphala Ayurveda Yogashram

The property is located in the middle of nowhere yet its every noisy from the road. Forget about sleeping after 7 AM! My flight landed at 3 AM and after collecting my luggage and half an hour drive to the ashram I wend to bed around 5 AM completely exhausted just to be woken up by the noise from the road and barking dogs. I was expecting a somewhat peaceful sanctuary. Well that was not it! In the morning Anitha who runs the place met me &informed me that the price on booking.com is for accomodation only, but they run ayurvedic treatment retreats with food and massages included but its at a different price. I agreed to that because I was feeling sick after the flight even though the cost became quadriple! After breakfast I went for a walk just to discover there is nothing around: no restaurants, no coffee shops and wherever you go local people just stare at you with their indian STARE That was not an area that you will enjoy as a foreigner. An ayurvedic dotor showed up and prescribed me some treatments. The treatments involved a massage, during which I was asked to sit in bare underwear in a cold room. I told the therapist this is not exactly comfortable for me. And she giggled as a response Then there was some confusion about the treatment so she called that Anitha person to clarify& they were having a chat over massage table on which i was lying naked. I am entitled to decide who and when sees me naked. After finished treatment I would wipe the excess oil off my body with a cloth and put my clothes on as the therapist was looking at me the whole time as I was doing it. I know its a very different culture but its still creepy! The room I was staying in has cold water only & very often there were water outages. Having cold and fever I had to ask for warm water to shower and wash my hair. Once I was told its not a good time whatever that means.
