Adequate hotel in the heart of Richmond. Pleasant staff. Needs some refurbishment.

Comfortable bed, well located.

Continental breakfast was very poor. Actually, it was the worst hotel breakfast we have ever had. Bed was uncomfortable.

This was an extremely poor stay. When I made the reservation, I saw that this was a very historic hotel, so I chose it without hesitation. We will be competing here for two days, starting at 8:00AM each morning. During the game, the hotel staff called me to tell me that I needed to check out. I discovered that I had made a mistake when booking the hotel. I originally planned to stay for two days, but I only booked one day. This was my mistake. I immediately told the hotel staff the reason and informed them that I needed to stay for another day, and then provided the staff with my credit card. The hotel staff told me that I could extend my stay for another day. But after waiting for about 30 minutes, the hotel staff called and said that my credit card could not be used. I'm wondering why my credit card can't be used? I informed the hotel staff that I would be back at the hotel soon and I would go directly to the front desk to deal with it. The staff told me it was no problem. I returned to the hotel and immediately checked with the hotel staff again, but I tried three credit cards and they couldn't be used. I asked the staff if I could pay in cash and was told no. So I contacted my bank directly and asked why my credit card couldn't pay. Later, BMO bank staff confirmed with the hotel staff over the phone and informed them that there was no problem with my credit card. But still can't pass. I asked the hotel staff again how to deal with this? The staff consulted with the hotel manager and came back to tell me that they needed to change my room and that my original room could no longer be occupied. I can pay for the room the next morning.

I am very grateful for their patience and service, and happily accepted their suggestions. But when I moved my luggage from 509 to room 214 with gratitude. I understand all the reasons. Just because their room price has increased today, they are not willing to let me continue to stay in the original room 509 at the original price. For this reason, they can tell me directly that I can accept a higher price. But no, I contacted the staff of my three banks and spent more than an hour. When I returned the 214 room card to the staff, the staff's expression told me that this was their strategy to drive away guests. When I left, I told them: I understand the reason. It is completely unnecessary for you to do this. It will only bring shame to this hotel. In the end, I chose the Omni Richmond Hotel next door. Hotels with the same star rating gave me a completely different experience. I told my family that this hotel experience made me realize hypocrisy and sincerity again. Thanks! No matter what we have been through, I still believe that the world is still beautiful.

Superb

Enjoyed a few days being a tourist and using Berkeley as base to explore from.

Great location to walk to attractions and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Valet parking cost is pretty high.

Very good

Nice place right next to state Capitol, with very reasonable rates.

Great location right near state Capitol. Rates were very good. Room was very clean and mattress was comfortable. Staff were very pleasant to deal with a friendly. Ice machine was close by, which was important because theres no fridge in the rooms.

Room did not have a fridge. How is that even a thing in 2023? ALL hotel rooms have a mini fridge these days. Nope, not this hotel. Also, the chair in the room - the sitting chair (not the desk chair) looked really old, really antique, and was horrendously uncomfortable to sit on. Its clearly just for looking at, not for sitting on. What a waste of a chair. Also, the bed had wayyyyyyyy to many accent pillows. And lastly, weirdly - there is wall mounted phone right next to the toilet. Thats just bizarre.
