Nice hotel but so disappointed

The room was nice, we were very happy with that..the staff were very helpful BUT and it was a but, but when booking a few weeks before I had specifically asked on a message to hotel if their restaurant was open on Christmas day, to be told upon arrival NO....we had travelled a fair distance and obviously hungry on arrival, the coffee machine in our room yad no milk provided either so it was just water we ended up with...the reception staff were very kind but said no the restaurant was closed..But we had written confirmation from the hotel that they would be open..the receptionist took a long time to find us a restaurant open which he kindly did..we had to walk to the tram 800 metres and ride that.. this was fine but my 81 year old husband really struggled, his walking is poor...If we had known when we sent a message to the hotel we would not have come..We did enjoy breakfast next morning but would not be happy to visit again as communication is very poor..they were very happy to send letters about paying upgrades but clearly not bothered about what the guests ask..The front of house staff were excellent not their fault at all but it us a management failure ...Bordeaux had a beautiful night market and lit up city centre..a fair etc, the restaurant we ate in was full to capacity too and yet Bordeaux hotels think let the guests book bring them in but dont feed them...ill thought out.

As stated above disappointed with the restaurant also the view to the river is obstructed by all the metal work..we paid for an upgrade of room ..we could barely see the river..it is not worth paying for an upgrade on the first four floors..

Unfortunate night events

Hotel really nice and clean. The staff was very pleasant. We stayed in the premium room with exclusive access. Rooms are very nice. Great views

Unfortunately, somewhere on the same floor or on the one above, we had very nasty people that at 5 am placed extremely loud music and were jumping all the time, which made it impossible to sleep. After that, probably the same person was playing the flute with the disturbance going. Finally, around 6 am, the fire alarm started and lasted for about 5/8 min. I can only guess that the same genius that came to the party at 5 am wanted a smoke and started the fire alarm. I know the hotel can not tell which people they are having, but having paid for better accommodations to make sure we had a good night sleep out was totally worthless. These people that disturbed us should be made to pay a hefty sum of money to teach them good manners.

spacious bedroom.

the bathroom was not clean. room service did not answer our calls. the smoke alarm went off at 5:30am - I was asleep - it was frightening. the breakfast was not that great - for the price.

Our second stay didnt disappoint, and we will definitely book again on our next visit to Bordeaux.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, spacious and comfortable room. Very good breakfast, although a larger choice of eggs, other than scrambled, would have been good (eg boiled or poached).

Nice big clean rooms

Far from the Center . Wasnt informed by any staff that breakfast was not included in our room rate . We were charged 40 for 2 coffees and a croissant. The staff refused to remove the cost from our bill as we had consumed breakfast . Very unfortunate as this was a miscommunication from both parties.
