Very good
Nice stay at Pangkor Laut Resort
The resort was well spread out and it was nice to be able to stay at the spa village where kids below 16 were not allowed. Also the Emerald Beach was really nice but there should have been more sunbeds. Would have been possible without plastering the beach. The staff were all amazing: Nadim was such a happy guy who did everything to make our stay memorable. Also Ram at the beach bar Chapman's Bar was really sweet and Razim (?) who was at the Jamu Bar every day was a gem and he also served our table for New Year and was very attentive. Uncle Lim's Kitchen was our favorite restaurant and the staff were all really sweet and helpful. We had two beach villas and they were very comfortable and spacious and the cleaning was perfect. Had a great massage - 80 min Balinese that started with 45 min entering different pools and a 10 min foot massage in addition to the massage itself. Breakfast was very good and varied - something for every taste I would say. Only thing is it felt very crowded as that restaurant is quite big. But we did not have to wait a very long time for food or anything. It was more the ambience we found a bit spoilt with so many people. Other that than the resort didn't feel overcrowded. We were recommended to book tables at the restaurants but we only did the first couple of days and never had a problem getting a table last days even though we didn't book.
It was a bit of a bummer to us that the beach the beach villas face cannot be used due to sea urchins and risk of jelly fish. I know the resort can't really do anything about this but I would have liked to know about it in advance. The resort has a shuttle that would take you around the resort - also to the other side of the island to a beautiful beach. If was not a problem to catch the shuttle it was just not what we had expected. We had lunch most days at the Royal Bay Beach Club and it was good. Again the staff was really nice. It was just such a shame that the bar was not open in the evening as it was the perfect spot for a pre- or after dinner drink. The Straits Bar was very narrow and only offered a few high tables and was placed between Uncle Lim's and the Feast Village so everyone walked past there and it was quite busy as it was the connecting corridor between the two restaurants. Not very cozy to sit there. Really missed a nice spot to sit in the evening and the Raoyal Bay Beach Club would have been perfect for this. You really should tell your guests not to feed the Hornbills at the restaurants. Tell them at check-in! It was quite disgusting as there were a lot of them and they got very near trying to pick the food on some occasions.

Exceptional
Amazing stay in this wonderful resort
Very nice room, well cleaned and with a nice view of the see and the jungle, nice atmosphere all around. The staff was exceptional, in every location, from the feast village to the spa pool and so on, everybody really friendly and helpful, they made our stay just perfect, specially Ong, and Devi who brightened up with her smile the breakfast and dinners at the Feast village. We were really enjoying the streetfood experience on saturday and the silvester dinner at the feats village and the Uncle Lim's Kitchen, we sadly didn't have the chance to try the Fisherman's cove. Spa pool amazing, quite, clean, perfect temperature of the pool water. Also the Spa treatments were really good, i highly recommend the nearly 4h Malay experience. The beach side is also very nice and well-kept, we saw the staff every day cleaning up rubbish from the sea. A lot of animals around, during the breakfast we could always enjoy the hornbills on the trees close to the tables, we were also lucky to have no problems with the monkeys. It was a very great experience, next time in Malaysia we will for sure come back.
The "regular" dinner buffet at the Feast village was not always the best. The taxes added to the prices afterwards were a bit annoying, i cannot understand why they don't do directly the prices with these taxes included.

A wonderful resort surrounded by beautiful nature
We loved our stay at Pangkor Laut. It is a beautiful resort on a small jungle island. All the staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Our room, the view, the poolside, the beach, the spa, everything was perfect. You can take Shuttle busses around the resort, however we did everything by foot. (be aware it is not a flat island and it goes quite uphill/downhill to the beach). You see a lot of animals (monkeys, hornbills, etc.), which is very nice. The resort has a nice relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful ambiance and offers very good quality of service and food. We will for sure be back.

Exquisite Estate villas and total detox holiday - pity about the maintenance
The location of Estate Seven is beautiful - it is buried amongst lush trees and undergrowth, has a private pool and is very peaceful and serene. There is great wildlife too, and every morning at breakfast, we had the company of 2 hornbills! We had a great chef Farizan, on site, a housekeeper, Husna, and our butler, Gagan, who valiantly tried to cater for all our needs. We also had the Estates' driver, Magendran, who would pick and drop us off, wherever we wanted to go around the island. We were totally spoilt during our 3 nights and 4 days at Estate 7! Chef Farizan is a great cook and very accommodating! Steak, rack of lamb, fish, prawns, etc. - you name it, we had it all (except for lobster!). Also try the banana leaf rice - it is to die for! It was a real holiday in every sense of the word, as everyday was a day to try new things, enjoy the facilities, lie on the beach, bask in the sun by the pool, bond with family and to make new memories! Total detox holiday!
This should be taken as constructive criticism - Estate 7 could do with some maintenance as at least 3 of the 4 villas have leaking roofs. The bed linen, when we arrived, did not appear to be crisp and fresh or smell freshly laundered, and in one villa, it was stained. The path to each of the 4 villas is pitch dark at night if it is not lighted - some of the lights on the trees lining the path were not working on our first night, but this was repaired after we informed the staff the next day. Magendran is a manager at the Estates but doubles up as the driver as we understand that there are currently no drivers for the Estate. On one occasion, we had gone to play tennis and were scheduled to be back for lunch by 1:30 pm as arranged with Chef Farizan. Although we called for a pick-up at 12:40 pm, thinking we would be in good time for lunch, by 1:15 pm, our pick-up had still not arrived. Rather than be late for lunch, we started to walk back to Estate 7 and were picked up halfway, 40 minutes after our call! We were quite annoyed at this until we discovered later that Magendran had to pick up new arrivals, send supplies to the Estates (there are 9 Estates, I think), IN ADDITION to being on call to respond to pick up requests from guests wanting to return to their Estate. It would be a good idea to have more than one driver to service the Estates as it is unacceptable, in our view, to keep guests waiting so long. Notwithstanding these issues, it still did not diminish our enjoyment of the holiday and overall, we enjoyed Estate 7 very much indeed, and owe grateful thanks to Magendran, Farizan, Husna and Gagan for the unforgettable time we had from 26 - 29 December 2023!

Great resort
Great staff, location was convenient, clean rooms.
Dated, limited dinner options, small pool with not enough deck chairs, shuttle service was very inefficient. We waited around 25 mins for a shuttle to come.

Loved this hotel. Staff mixed from superb to gormless. Head of nature superb. Segar the hotel manager is superb. Segar Greeted us even though we arrived late. Was around all the time Responded quickly to WhatsApp. Amazing hotel manager. Brilliant.
Pre arrival booking. They dont pick up the phone. Very off putting. I nearly cancelled. Glad I didnt as the hotel was lovely but the YTL phone central booking is appalling. So bad

Some staff were very helpful but understanding not really there. Had to request for the same thing 3 times
Water sports facility is not inclusive and kayaking was just at a miserable enclosed area. Attitude of a particular Singaporean man and women that were atrocious. Ignored the waitress and took my table and pretended he did not know I left my book there to keep the table while I went to the buffet line. He had the audacity to threaten the waitress and said she gave bad service when it was his pride and ego at stake.

Superb
Nice hotel, I like this place overall. Very good fish restaurant with excellent food. Service is great. There are a lot of green areas to walk, clean and gorgeous beach. There are a lot of activities.
We had to wait a lot in every place: before check in (yes, I know, we came earlier, but some hotels provide early check in), check out, bus to the beach. By the way, we booked beach villa, but then we found out that the beach, where its allowed to swim is not near our villa, but in the another part of the island, 40 min distance to walk. They provide a bus, but it takes much time to wait it. Rooms are not new, not enough sockets in the room. Check in time is 3pm, but check out time is 11 am. I think its not very fair. Considering that, they still couldnt provide early check in. Additionally you need to know that only way to get to the island is the boat, provided by the hotel, the price is 80 ringgit per person per way.

Superb
Overall, a pricey stay. Not so worth it Id say. I would say for this price I would go back to Banjaran Hotspring aa the
The facilities & amenities are the best. We booked hillside villa, the view was just wow.
Boat transfer was expensive. I wasnt aware that its a separate island & needed to pay for the boat. If I knew earlier, I wouldve cancelled this booking.
