-booked a 3bedroom for 2night stay. So 1x 2bedroom apt plus 1x 1bedroom adjoining room.
The 1 bedroom apt was suffocating, smell of paint was too strong. We were unable to use that room.
The 2bedroom apt, aircon was not working. It was blowing air but doesnt get cold. Set it up to 16degrees but room temp as per room thermometer was 24 to 27 degrees.
Called the reception to chek. Night duty reception was very dismissive and defensive stating thats normal for the aircon and it is working coz fan was blowing,even stated aircons safety net temp only goes 20 to 21degrees. Doesnt get colder than that. Told him to compare it to the other 1bedroom which was 16deg cold. But insisted that no it was working and no reason to change room. Also said room was newly renovated they cant do anything abt the paint. And aircon is new so it is working.
Very dismissive and defensive.
Told him we are requesting to change room said theres no reason to change rooms as not a valid claim. Told him we will transfer hotel despite the time that its almost midnight if he can give us refund, said no also.
-complained to the morning staff, she cheked her system and said your room temp says 24degrees so it is working.and it is new so shouldnt be broken. But will chek with maintenance. Said it will come at 10am.
-we waited by 10, followed it up by 1030. Said they will come whenever they can. 11am. No news so we left for the day. Didnt hear anything from them.
-came back that night no news still and aircon not resolved.
-nextday chekout, reception said oh you had aproblem with aircon will give you 10% discount. I needed to ask what the maintainance said- and they admitted it was broken hence the compensation. I told her we werent able to use the pther room also due to strong paint smell and 2 of us slept on the couch of the hot room. So increase it to 15% discount for 2 nights.
Very disappointing. Its the staffs dismissive and defensive reaction that pissed me off.
