Disappointing

I was expecting a 5 star experience and it's a 3 star

The beach and infrastructure were nice. The gardens were beautiful.

Most of the staff seemed tired, overworked and did not have a great attitude. There were of course a few great employees. The service everywhere was slow and it seems that all the restaurants and bars were understaffed. I was also expecting premium drinks to be included but that's not as important as what really started us off on the wrong footing. I had requested a lower floor or room to be close to the lobby for my 83 year old mother. When we arrived we were sent to our separate rooms and my mom was given a 2nd floor. I went back to the lobby to have it changed and the answer was that the room had been used and now could not be changed. They told us to come back the next day at 5pm for the change, which we did, and after waiting for an hour they told us to come back the next day. At that point I lost it and told them to find us another hotel and to get me plane reservations back home. Their answer was that they could not refund me and I replied I didn't care about the money but having my mom fall down a set of stairs was not an option. Thirty minutes later they found us another room. Their attitude throughout this process was unhelpful and condescending.

The pool, the kids areas

The staff/service. Especially at the buffet, it was all fend for yourself. Took them very long to get coffees, drinks at breakfast. The cups,mugs and plates were always running low, always had to be asking for them. The omelet people took forever so the lines were always congested. It took longer to gather all the elements needed to eat, than to actually eat. I would understand if the hotel was at top capacity but it clearly wasn't.

Just the entrance is beautiful

The pool is very dirty and old. It was our honeymoon and there were some guys FROM THE HOTEL, that say to you, come with me to earn free complimentary massage. And they take you to agency in other hotel to try to sell you affiliation to their program. Very bad to check in, took us like 3 hours. Room was ok. Nothing like the pictures. I had prepaid by the booking and they forced me to pay again in the hotel, with poor explanations about. I dont recommend this hotel and will never come back to a Melia anywhere in the world.

When booking a hotel on your own, remember that if you do not take with you the bank card from which the payment was mad

Large, green hotel area.

Old and dirty furniture in the room. The sofa was stained and there was also a large stain on the curtains. One of the pillows on the bed had a strong sweat smell. The bar in the room was replenished with drinks only when I called the reception

Disappointing

The property is very pretty and I like that there were trains to take us around

They made me book another reservation just because the person who paid for my first reservation was not present. Booking has yet to give me a refund. The staff was not very attentive as I had to call 3 times and wait for over an hour for someone to help me with my luggage for checkout and they still never came. The entertainment was boring.

Bad service, the hotel didnt took responsibility for anything nor tried to solve the inconveniences

The beach and room.

The hotel staff attention, they made us wait 2 hours and a half to give us our room, for this reason we missed the opportunity to make a reservation for dinner. Also, the food/restaurant unavailability. The mini bar in our room was never full. Also, when we asked for small things like water, the staff ignored us several times. The attitude of some workers was rude.
