Great facilities, improvements could be made on guest service

Very good facilities, impressive hotel. Great location close to shooping area and walkable distance to main touristic attractions (like Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven). The christmas tree and decorations were a great highlight. The swimmingpool and jacuzzis were also very relaxing and withing a great environment.

Even though it is not allowed to smoke inside the hotel, this was still happening. Including smoke being brought inside our room through AC making it unbearable to breathe. We also had an unfortunatte accident with some floor lights in the hotel lobby that damaged some of our property. After this situation the on duty manager was rude to us, blaming us for what happened. However, the next day some of the staff were very hepful in trying to compensate us for the situation and aknowledging the safety issues. A lot of the staff do not speak english, but the ones that communicated with us were mostly very friendly and helpful. One time we asked the consierge to book us a taxi, it took a very long time and the taxi that we got was miserable.

AS YOU DRIVE DOWN THE STREET TO THE HOTEL YOU ARE CONFRONTED WITH A MAGNIFICENT BUILDING WHICH STANDS OUT FROM ALL THE OTHER BUILDINGS. AS YOU WALK THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR YOU SEE BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE AND ANTIQUES TWO SWEEPING STAIRCASES UP TO THE FIRST FLOOR AND THE WHOLE BUILDING IS OPEN UP TO THE SKYLIGHT 17 FLOORS ABOVE. ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ESPECIALLY THE ITALIAN AMBASSADOR. OUR ROOM WAS BEAUTIFUL VERY NICE FURNITURE THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE ROOM WAS QUIET.THE ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE TOILET DOES NOT HAVE A SOFT CLOSE SEAT AND THE WARDROBE IS A LITTLE SMALL. WE STAYED 7 NIGHTS AND WERE VERY BUSY EVERY DAY , DID NOT HAVE TIME TO FULLY EXPLORE THE BUILDING UNTIL THE LAST DAY WHEN WE FOUND THE SWIMMING POOL WHICH IS THE BEST WE HAVE EVER SEEN, WILL DEFINITELY USE ON OUR NEXT STAY. VERY HARD TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS HOTEL. LOCATION IS PERFECT FOR WONG FU JING AND ONLY A SHORT WALK TO THE METRO LINE WHICH WILL TAKE YOU TO ANYWHERE IN BEIJING IN UNDER AN HOUR. THE BEST HOTEL WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN ANYWHERE.

To visit China first time and to be impressed from the National Holiday

The hotel is very nice, the room was quite big and comfortable, well equipped . The staff was very nice and helpful , they advised us a lot of and they helped us to make reservation to visit central places during the National Holiday. Giacomo was very friendly and helped us a lot with the taxi, which is really not easy in Beijing.

1. The Internet in the room was very bad, but it is probably mainly because of the problem with Google in China. 2. The cleaning especially of the mirrors and the windows could be better. 3. We didn't try breakfast, we just had a look on it: it was quite OK, standard breakfast, but the price was a bit overestimated to our opinion.
