Kelapa Retreat & Spa

My husband and me have been traveling in Asia for many years, but rarely did we enjoy a place as close to a serene paradise as Kelapa Retreat. The location is a secluded two hours away from bustling Canggu but very much worth the scenic, albeit bit bumpy drive. The resort complex is just breathtakingly beautiful and spacious, there is a big infinity pool and a slightly smaller one in the midst of coconut trees, plus most villas come with a private pool. We had a garden pool villa and enjoyed the privacy it offered very much but also relaxed at the bigger infinity pool that has an amazing view at the sea. The beach is almost completely empty and perfect for long sunset walks. Staff at Kelapa were friendly, helpful and accommodating at all times, we were allowed to check-in early, and when there was a medical issue, a staff member escorted us to the public health center and tried to organize medicine delivery from Canggu. Yoga class at the beach-front shala was great, the in-house spa as well.

It is one of the best hotels in bali it tooks around 3 hours to reach the hotel but it is worth it also the driver was soo kind and friendly, everything was perfect, the staff are very friendly and very helpful, they prepared the room very well and sprayed the whole room to prevent insects from entering it helped a lot and they prepared for me mosquito net because I mentioned to them about my situation they really did everything to let us feel happy and relax. The restaurant was amazing and the workers there were skilled and friendly too we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner with the wonderful relaxing view and the waves sound. We really wished if we could stay more, but we will definitely be back. I really thank everyone from the kelapa retreat resort for making our staycation unforgettable

Communication with Kelapa Retreat and Spa prior to our stay was easy and the responses via email were prompt and helpful. Kelapa Retreat and Spa was everything we were looking for; it was quiet, not commercialized, the staff were helpful and attentive. Kelapa Retreat and Spa is set in a coconut tree plantation and the coconuts are harvested by the staff and used in the restaurant. The whole property is clean and tidy, plants, flowers and trees are abundant throughout the whole site providing a beautiful environment with lots of natural shade. The restaurant was lovely, and the food choices offered a range of western and Indonesian choices. We stayed in a garden pool villa which provided privacy and comfort. We were able to step straight from the bedroom area into the pool for that early morning dip. The main pool and garden overlooked the ocean and there were a few steps from the garden down to the beach. the beach was clean and not crowded and was also overlooked by the restaurant, all ideal places from which to watch the sunsets. The reception staff were welcoming (and reception was open 24 hours) and were helpful in sourcing drivers when we wanted to visit some of the sights in the north of Bali. The spa offered a range of massages; and other spa treatments and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach as we received our massages in an "open" treatment room, (ie there were two treatment rooms available and one had an open outlook to the sea as there was a half wall and no window - privacy was not compromised so dignity was still maintained). There are a lot of steps throughout the retreat which could be challenging. We had arranged with Kelapa Retreat and Spa to be picked up from the airport and to be transported back to the airport at the end of our stay. As we had to leave at 5:30am to get to the airport, Kelapa Retreat and Spa provided us with a breakfast box and water to use while we travelled to the airport.
