Superb

Lovely renovations . .

I had a two night stay at Hotel Scheuble in a Single Room 111. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10-15 minute walk from Zurich Station. It has been beautifully renovated, with ample space in the bedroom. Though a single room, the bed was more a double size and very comfortable. The bathroom was interesting in that it had glass walls - I don't know if this was the case in all rooms, but if sharing with a friend, it could perhaps be awkward! The shower was large and hot, however, only shampoo and body wash were provided. The Reception staff were very helpful, providing maps and directions, suggestions for where to eat and things to do. In all, this was a most enjoyable stay being in a very walkable location with both trams and trains close by, cafes and restaurants were nearby and it was a gateway to some beautiful streets and attractions within the area.

Being an international traveller, I would have appreciated power points that could accommodate international adapters close to the bed.

Superb

Very central and super 3-star hotel.

Location, atmosphere and service. Good breakfast at fair price. Very clean place as well and the staff always very gentle.

The toilet walls are glass so a bit un-private. The two TVs never connected to the internet to watch streams services.

Very comfortable stay

Superbly located in Niederdorf, easy walking distance to everywhere, and quiet despite being so central. Nowhere near noisy nightlife. Location could hardly be better, and only 5 mins walk max to tram stop with many connections (Central). 10 mins walk to HB. Hotel interior of very high quality, modern and comfortable. Bed extremely comfortable. Tea / coffee (Nespresso) making facilities in the room. Breakfast was not included in my rate, but I opted for it anyway, and it is of very good quality and variety. Possibility to get freshly made pancakes or omelettes on the spot. At times a little busy, can be challenging to find a free table at busy times in the morning. Wifi very good.

The only thing I missed was a fridge in the room, which would be handy for a few day's stay, but could manage (may be more essential in the summer). The room is a bit on the small side, with bathroom (shower) an integrated wet cell in a glass cage in the middle of the room, which is a bit functional and wouldn't offer much privacy if sharing the room, but okay for single traveller.

Expected More!

Convenient Location: The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to access popular attractions and nearby amenities. Parking Facilities: I appreciated the convenience of the parking facilities. It was hassle-free and added to the overall positive aspects of the stay. Welcoming Lobby: The lobby interior was tastefully designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere upon arrival. It set a positive tone for the stay. Cleanliness: I found the hotel to be generally clean, which is always a crucial aspect of any accommodation.

Delayed Room Readiness: Unfortunately, my check-in experience was marred by the fact that my room was not ready upon arrival. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed that the floor was very wet, and when I say very wet, I mean it! There were literal small puddles of water everywhere. Poor Internet Connection: The internet connection at the hotel was disappointingly poor. It constantly disconnected, making it challenging to stay connected and get work done. This is a crucial aspect for modern travelers, and the hotel should prioritize improving its Wi-Fi services. Lack of Bathroom Privacy: The bathroom's design, with mostly glass and few pictures, did not allow for much privacy. If you value privacy in the bathroom, this could be a significant drawback.

Room was a little small. No instructions on how to turn heating down. Had to open a window to counter how hot it got in the room.

Exceptional

Perfect location, perfect stay, perfect staff.

Great location, central to pretty much everything. Under a 10 minute walk to Zurich HB, and the trains are super easy to use and good value, making the city navigable. Hotel staff were extremely accommodating, and allowed us to check in early. Lots of useful information given. We were also upgraded, which added to the accommodating nature of the staff. They are a credit to the facility, nothing is too much. The rooms were spacious and clean, but most importantly comfy. I echo a previous review that stated its definitely more than a 3-star hotel. Water, tea, coffee all provided FOC.

It would have been nice to have access to a mini fridge in the room to store items like fresh milk, but it was easily worked around.
