3rd or 4th time I've stay here so that must mean it's ok!

I've stayed here 3 times now (or is it 4). You can't really ask for a better location and the price is great. It's a basic Japanese business hotel. Just a room with a "unit bath". I'm sure I'll stay here many more times. If you're not looking for a ryokan experience or if you book a fancy hotel for a couple of nights and just want a place to crash after this is a great place to stay.

Wifi could always be better :P

Great value for money option in a good location.

Great location close to subway with underground mall with supermarket and good fresh bakery. Also a good Fresco supermarket a 5-minute walk away that has a nice ready-made food selection. Walking distance to some of the top sights and evening spots. It was my first time in Kyoto but I often thought I lucked out with the location. The area is more happening than the one around the main Kyoto station.

There was some street noise in the room. In a building like that, not for from a busy road, you really need double-glazed windows. It did help to slide the wooden panels in front, but still.

This wouldnt be my first or even second choice next time in Kyoto but you can make it work if you are out of options.

Location was prefect.

Rooms were too hot at night and you couldnt turn on the A/C. If you opened a window then you just heard cars and people all night. Also, they dont accept the new 500 yen coins. Not sure whats up with that seeing how that is a legal currency for Japan. If it is a machine problem then fix the problem. Dont pass the inconvenience on to the customer. Tried to get 100 yen coins for the laundry machines but was told no. Thought that was a terrible show of customer service when I was told they cant accept the new currency.

Good price-performance near all the popular shopping places in Kyoto

+ Very close to Sanjo and Shijo, where all the action is + Staff is friendly + Bicycle parking in front of the hotel is surprisingly safe + Reasonable price

- The room is on the smaller side so I wish there were more hangers and/or hooks on the walls to help organize belongings
