Simple but pleasant stay

Kudos to the service staff. I must say the service is impeccable. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They are always eager to help and make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The rooms are a little old but nothing that makes our stay uncomfortable.

The bed was comfortable and shower pressure was good.

There was no table in the balcony and only one chair even though the photo showed two chairs and one table. Shower head was broken. Wifi not accessible in the room. Breakfast start time was 10 minutes late, which rushed us to get to the airport.

The location is fabulous, walkable distance from everything you want to visit in Istanbul. Great friendly staff.

The Jacuzzi in the room was unnecessary, it was a pure waste of real estate. The shower cubicle was way too small.

We were given a "free room upgrade" which was nice, although no explanation was given. It was quiet and we were never interrupted. It was clean and tidy and the decor is nice. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the location of the hotel is great - only a few minutes walk to the main tramline or the Blue and Hagia Sophia Mosques. There are some great restaurants nearby - we went to Mivan which we highly recommend. Breakfast is varied but a bit repetitive after a few days however it is fresh and there is a good selection of local produce.

The sauna and steam rooms in the spa were only open from 10am to 4pm which meant we couldn't use it after a day in the city before we went out. We also went to use it one day just after 10am to be told they were cleaning it and it wouldn't be available for 2 hours...why not clean it before it opens?? We chose this hotel because of the free usage of the facilities but didn't get a chance to try it. The hours are a bit poor for it to be accessible without spending more time in the hotel. Don't book the dinner cruise through the hotel. We had to pay cash, which cost us a lot more than we expected in fees to withdraw from the cash machine. They also sold us something completely different to what we received, which we would never have booked separately. You can get better discounts by looking online and booking through TripAdvisor. The AC didn't work - blew hot air, and most of the operations were locked. When will hotels learn that Nescafe instant coffee is not nice! Would have preferred something better - so we didn't use these facilities in the room.
