The Goldi Sands Hotel provides a great overall experience with its beachfront location and beautiful surroundings. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious, with both buffet and a la carte opt (Read More)ions available. The rooms are comfortable, with some located in the older part of the hotel. The beach is wide and sandy, perfect for early morning fishing activities. While the area is a bit out of town, there are plenty of food options nearby.

Location and pool are nice but the room and breakfast make it a poor option for a longer stay

The location is good - right by the beach and near different restaurants and shops. The hotel also boasts two pools which makes it easy to use the facilities. The staff are helpful but not necessarily anything exceptional in comparison to other similar hotels in Sri Lanka

The room was very humid, causing mold on walls and also on the mattress of the baby cot. Moreover, the windows were most of the time covered with condensed water and this seemed to be an issue with many other hotel rooms. There were signs of bud begs (bites on feet and small insects on the mattress). There were also spiderwebs. Visible and large stains were on the sofa and on the chair in the room. On all of the days of our stay (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), there were large group events in the hotel which undermined the overall atmosphere. Breakfast is very average.

We enjoyed our stay the people are so nice we didn't let the weather spoil our stay ,

The room was very good and spacious but I think the bathroom needed a little uplift ,the shower was a bit old and would not stay in one position and the sealant round the edge was a little black, I did report an accident I had in the bedroom with my leg hitting the corner of the bed I had quite a nasty leg while I was staying in the hotel the front desk said they would deal with the matter after looking at my leg buy I heard nothing after that.we have been to Is Lanka 5 times but never in September

Great property at a great price

I genuinely enjoyed my stay here during my first night in Negombo. The pool staff were great, as well as those on the reception desk and restaurant.

I have nothing to dislike.

Poor

Long balconies that block the view. The bathroom was hideous. The shower water flows to the room. They had closed the car park early and I had to wait for a long time to get the gate open. There was water in basement car park and our feet got wet. The kitchen took my breakfast order and said they took the order for the food items that was readily available at the time. But took forever to bring it. I had to call and remind. Then they said it wasnt ready and that they started to make the food only 20 minutes after the order was taken because there is a fixed time food preparation starts every day. They contradicted themselves to cover for their delay. Coming up with some lame excuse is unacceptable. I didnt have time that day to complain about these to the management. I went looking for a comfortable stay and they disappointed me.

Nothing.

Unfortunately hotel was old, neglected and not comfortable. It does not deserve for 5* at all, 5* in this case sounds as a joke. It was our last hotel during 3 week travel through Sri Lanka so we have opportunity to compare. If You can try avoid this hotel. Value absolutely not worth this money.
