The ideal choice for the solo traveller

CitizenM is one of that new type of 'design' hotel aimed at travellers on a budget who want the feeling of a dignified hotel stay. The basic formula is always the same (Pod, Motel One, CitizenM): very central, ideal locations, clean, minimalist, modern rooms, compact size, a lightweight touch on staff. Here again it proves a winning formula, one of the best-value hotels I have been in, and for Seattle, truly remarkable. It's not just that the location could hardly be better, it's that the rooms are fitted to a top standard and feel genuinely comfortable. Those who really want to spread out might not be so keen, but for anyone who likes efficiency and thinks good things come in small packages, it works very well. Of particular note must be mentioned the fully automated check-in and check-out: no more waiting at desks whilst queues are serviced, zero hassles arriving in the middle of the night or leaving in the small hours. It's effortless and a breeze to navigate. What you get is a hotel with all the basics you need taken to a high standard, without all the frills you probably don't care about escalating the price into the stratosphere.

Little to complain about really. Perhaps room cleaning service could be every other day rather than every 3 days, but really, this is a very minor quibble.

Would definitely stay here again.

We liked the location and the price. The staff were great. It was nice to have the living areas to hang out in. We liked that the floors were not carpeted.

The software controls for lighting and ventilation were not so great (UI). It would be nice to have a microwave. The toilet ran when we used #2, so we only used #1. More functional shelving/storage would be helpful. It would be nice to have 2 different pillow thicknesses. The pillows were a little too thick for me.

Overall it was great however our sleep wasnt great because of the pillows.

The rooms were cool and everything was very straight forward. The lobby was great as well as the staff.

The pillows are very hard and big. It hurt our necks. So we had a difficult time sleeping.
