Superb

Good communication. Helped with transfer and early check in. Very good food in restaurant downstairs. Clean and comfortable room.

Okay start to Sri Lanka trip - good airport pickup.

Great snooker table for free. Staff friendly, let us check in early.

The whole hotel was shut at 5am when we arrived. Our taxi transfer had to beep and flash his lights until somebody came. In the evening, we tried to go for dinner in their restaurant but the waiter just sat on his phone so we just left and went back to Boho (great Cafe down the street). Hotel seems to be going through a refurbishment as parts were shut. Name of the hotel is also confusing, as it is not on the beach.

Disappointing

The staff and the location, even though it wasn't beachfront, as it appeared to me in the description.

One goes up to the loft bedroom and then down to the bathroom on a set of steep stairs. A tough negotiation in the middle of the night. The bathroom is attached to a sitting room with poor lighting. Another two sets of stairs take you down to street level. Good exercise as there are no lifts; however, there are gentlemen who carry the luggage up and down smiling as they go. Not for the disabled. It appears and sounds like a building site in progress.

We booked a "duplex double room with 1 bed, balcony and sea view (free airport transfer, early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability)". We had to come from the airport, spend the night and leave for the airport the next day. The transfer was made only once, but this is not indicated in the booking. It was said at the last moment. But they couldn't offer a taxi. The air conditioner did not work in the room. The number was changed two hours later. The door to the toilet did not close in the new room. The location of the hotel is indicated from the beach side on this site, but the hotel is located across the street really. It wasn't the cheapest room in Sri Lanka, but it was a terrible experience at the end of the trip.
