Overnight stopover to visit DPS

Whenever we need to visit the Amarillo DPS we stay here. Its clean and the staff are always super friendly. Yes its a little dated but the staff are nice, linens clean and theres always 24 hour coffee. The Mexican restaurant next door is useful for dinner. See you next time!

Theres more homeless in the area since last time we stayed, not an issue though.

Disappointing

Unfortunately, we were put into a situation that we had to stay in a place that wasn't well kept.

The office area and the greeting were awesome. The location is great. I really like the check in area. It was clean and very presentable. The grounds were okay, as well. I did like the information that the greeter gave me.

The room that was booked wasn't easily accessible. I'm in a boot and a knee brace. I had to walk three floors of stairs and carry my luggage too. I had my daughter with me, but it was still not easy. The elevator wasn't working either. There were people smoking weed very close to our room and we are both allergic to it. We had to spend most of our stay away from our room because of that. The ice machine wasn't something to be desired either. The room was not cleaned well. There were many problems in the room. We didn't have a choice but to stay there. We were just exhausted.

Disappointing

The stay would have been acceptable if my shaving kit hadn't been confiscated.

I left my toiletries kit in the room. Seems no one could find it even though it was left in plain sight on the counter, 6 inches from the edge and 12 inches from the left wall.
