About This Property

Il Faro is right on the harbour in Sorrento, which is great if you are thinking of visiting 1 of the islands. Have a traditional Neapolitan pizza at the Vela Bianca restaurant. The entire hotel has a seafaring design.

Quirky place and good if you are planning daily ferry runs to Capri and Positano

The view from our hotel room was good. Across the bay to Capri and Mt Vesuvius. It is a great location for catching the ferry to either Capri or to Amalfi or Positano (provided the ferries are running)

The location while close to the ferry terminal, is about 12 flights of stairs down from the main area of town. Any time you want to go into town for lunch, dinner, or shopping, you had to do the stairs. The alternative, was a 1.5Euro per head elevator ride each way? Oh and the taxi back to the railway.... a 5 minute ride at best was almost 20Euro, but that is not controlled by the hotel, but is worth mentioning

For the summer season and beginning of autumn is a good spot for all the activities by boat

It was a good location to move around the port

The pool and rooftop was always close and the access to the hotel it wasnt easy at night because the city elevator was closed and there wasnt bus working late.

Nice but could be better.

The location was great particularly if you will use the port to access the ferries. A couple of restaurants were close by. The view was magical.

If you want to go to the centre be prepared to walk, catch a taxi, bus or a lift. So you will pay something unless you walk up. The other distasteful was plastic on the mattress.

Clean family run hotel in the port of Sorrento

Right at the port so easy to take ferries to Naples, Capri, Positano, Almafi etc. hotel is clean, safe and is family run. Staff is amazing. Good selection for breakfast. You can walk up to town or take the lift or the local bus.

I went on Nov so many places closed including restaurants. My fault not the hotels.

Would 100% stay there again!

Location is major! Very central very close to everything. Moments from the harbor so you could go to Capri, Positano & Amalfi. However in the off season you have to take the bus to Positano & Amalfi which is also very close to this great hotel (train station is also few minutes walk) Elena from reception is very friendly and very helpful she gave us great tips and many useful advice. Room is very spacious and hotel was kind to give us a free upgrade. All in all with room service improvements the hotel will be very great to stay in!

Room service didnt clean very well, they also didnt change the sheets. Breakfast could be more diverse (everyday they provide the same dishes).
