Chalston Beach Resort

We stayed at Chalston Beach for 8 nights over Christmas at the end of our trip to India. The hotel and grounds are stunning, easily the best in Calangute from what we saw on our walks out. The rooms are both practical and immaculately clean, with great A/C. Should you require additional towels or toiletrieshousekeeping are only a phone call away and are promptly delivered in no more than 5 minutes. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool with pool bar where you can order food and drinks all dayduring our stay, with the majority of the guests off to the beach, we had the whole pool to ourselves. The restaurant.this is a real selling point for the hotelfantastic setting directly on the beach with fantastic views, especially at sunsetthere isnt a a better view in the area. The menu offers options for all tastes..from curry to pizza, Chinese to pasta and a fantastic choice of seafoodall cooked to perfection. To match the food, the service in the restaurant is the one of the best experiences we have received, the waiters are so polite and attentive to ensure every guest receives a premium experience whilst dining. The hotel is a family run business, and it certainly shows they care about their guests. Throughout the total stay, the owners and their Sons were on hand assisting around the property and in the restaurantfrom clearing tables to serving breakfasta real personal touch. Breakfast - very limited choices if you dont want to eat Asian food. Restaurant was way too busy at breakfast time and not a pleasant way to start day. Mattress in the room was rock hard and not comfortable for sleeping, and so the five nights we stayed I didnt sleep well at all. Rudeness of some members of staff - male members of staff constant staring at me made me feel uncomfortable. The way all the male staff stand around at the bottom of the stairs in reception made me feel really uncomfortable and so I tried where possible to avoid walking through. On our last night I made a complaint in the restaurant as another customer was being too loud and he just laughed at me, and didnt do anything.

Me, my wife and son stayed at the hotel from 21-26 Oct 2023. Rooms were "Superior Rooms". They were spacious for family of three. TV, Split AC, wifi, mini fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer were there in the room. Bathrooms were spacious, neat and clean. Only bucket/mug was missing although shower was there. One can see a slice of the sea from the attached verandah. Both reception and restaurant staff were good. Liked the food. Since we booked five months ago, room rents were reasonable. Best thing of the hotel was the location. It is really on the Calangute beach. And you can see the ocean in the front of you while having complimentary breakfast on the beach restaurant.
