Best Waterfalls in Lombok

A peaceful neighbour of the more bustling Bali, Lombok is home to a few of the most tranquil waterfalls in the archipelago. Vivid sunsets, lush forests and clear waters are some things that come to mind when thinking about Lombok. Most of the waterfalls in Lombok are tucked away inside the jungle and require a fair amount of trekking led by experienced guides. But the journey is well worth the rewards.

Here is the list of 4 Waterfalls in Lombok

1. Jeruk Manis, Lombok

For one who loves nature and visits the Indonesian island of Lombok, Jeruk Manis is a paradise for them. It is an enchanting waterfall that trickles down the southern slopes of Mount Rinjani. The literal meaning of the word 'Jeruk Manis', is 'Sweet Lime' in the Indonesian language.

2. Benang Stokel Waterfall

Benang Stokel is actually a series of five waterfalls, accessible by a short walk through the forest. The first three falls make for a wondrous sight with a hidden alcove behind the water. However, the shallow waters make swimming here unfeasible. The next series of waterfalls houses a ‘jumping spot’ burrowed among greenery and flora. If you decide to take a dip in the water, the only way back up is by a few minutes of rock climbing through the canyon, so this is only recommended if you’re in for a workout!

3. Semporonan Waterfall

Semporonan Waterfall is a hidden treasure of Senggigi. You have to ask one of the villagers to guide you to this tranquil beauty, a 30-minute walk from the heart of the village. The clear waters, contrasted with the zagged horizon is breathtaking. This 15-meter high waterfall gives way to two smaller streams which are perfect for taking a swim in. It is recommended you wear well-gripped shoes since the slopes can get slippery.

4. Tiu Kelep Waterfall, Lombok

The Tiu Kelep Waterfall, along with its counterpart the Sendang Gile Waterfall, are located in the North of Lombok. Located within a walking distance of each other, both waterfalls are visited together with the tourists being charged IDR 10,000 as the entrance fee for visiting both the locations. The waterfalls attract hordes of adventure-loving tourists. It is Tiu Kelep that happens to be the bigger one with visitors having to walk along the river trail in order to get down to the base of the waterfall.
