Kashid happens to be a favourite camping spot for people who want easy access from Mumbai. A number of camping groups are there for people who might be hesitant to camp out alone. Camping and Kashid beaches happen to be a match made in heaven, what with the beautiful white sand, the numerous stars that fill up the sky, and the lush green scenery. A camping experience often includes the process of setting up your own tents in a group, relaxing in and around the beaches, beach games, bonfire, and a nice barbeque-dinner. The camping groups that operate, usually charge between INR 1800 to INR 2000 for one person.

Watersports in Kashid

If you are looking for a break from just idling around the beaches at Kashid, just try the enthralling array of water sports lined up at the beaches. You can try a number of sports like Kayaking, Parasailing, Snorkeling, Banana Ride, Jet Skis, etcetera. Since Kashid happens to be a relatively less populated place, the water sports are priced at much more reasonable rates than its contemporary tourist hot spots.

A banana ride can be done in around INR 200 - INR 300. A speedboat can be hired at a price of INR 500, while a jet ski can be hired at a price of INR 800. Parasailing, however, remains on the higher side of the rates, which can cost up to INR 1200 - INR 1500. A number of tour operators throng along this place.

Kombadi-Wade, Sol-Kadhi, Jackfruit bhajji, Ambole, Kelphoola-chi bhajji and Kurkuronbombeel which is a crispy and fried preparation of Bombay duck are some of the delicacies available here. Other than this find the seasonal and zesty preparations of bananas, mangoes and coconuts. For a dash of sweetness try the popular Maharashtrian sweet Modak.

Recently, a lot of small, cheap but absolutely delicious shacks have opened up on the north end of the beach - they serve excellent Konkani chicken/mutton/seafood. A lot of homestays dotted along the beachline also serve simple and tasty homemade food.

Do remember that you wouldn't find any bars next to the beach - the only place where you can buy liquor is a small shop around 4 km south of Kashid (towards Murud). You might find the shop closed because of the Highway Liquor Ban. None of the restaurants next to the beach serves alcohol, although a few might allow you to carry your own and drink while eating.

not near kashid but there is one named kihim beach it's also good u cud try that one.. kashid itself is secluded and quiet there is one nagaon beach but u may not like the crowd there... Just for su (Read More)ggestion... cheers
